Laptop refuses to boot.(LOCK PLS)

Featured Replies

My brother has a laptop, which for the life of me, I cannot figure out how to get it to boot. It has Windows XP installed, and after starting to boot(and getting past the screen with the loading bar and XP logo), it will not boot into the OS, it simply asks for options of whether to boot into safe mode, or last good configuration, or a normal boot. All boot methods will go to the loading screen, then just quit, and jump back to the options given of safe mode, normal boot, etc.

I think there might be a virus on it, but I can't get into the OS to check.

I was going to eat hot dogs for dinner tonight. I think I will settle for cereal.

We decided to format it, just lock the thread. It had a BSOD, and I didn't bother to grab the text or code, so meh.

I am actually really happy with your decision. It could have been a simple fix but who knows and instead of messing around getting know where i assume it is now booting?

Locked on Request.
