It's illegal to use in RS and was able to download on most fan sites but got deleted when RS said it was illegal

It is a third party client used to play RuneScape. If I were you, I would stick with the original, official client.

Many people argue its legality but we disallow it here for multiple reasons, including the protection of our users. Here is a post by another administrator that sums it up quite well:

We don't allow third-party clients to be posted on the boards -

it's not necessarily tied to Jagexs' rules - for some reason people think that we are trying to

make up Jagexs' rules for them - and that is most certainly NOT the case!! TPCs are

disallowed on these forums purely for the fact that there are FAR too many out there which

have keyloggers, etc. and we have no control (and don't wish to) of any of these clients and

the authenticity of them... it's simply not worth our time to have to check out EVERY client

out there, and EVERY place it can be downloaded from... and even if we DID check them out,

who's to say it can't be "modified" 5 min after we've checked it and said it's safe ? It's just

not practical....

Due to the fact that we can't check each and every third party client, we have outlawed ALL of them

on our boards - no pictures, no admitting you use it. Do not post such pictures again of Swiftswitch,

or any other TPC, or you will be banned.

And, of course, JAGEX's view of the program:

Mod Laura W, Jagex staff member[/b], on the 16th of March 2005":xoeb8f71]

"Please note that Swiftswitch is not allowed within Runescape."

The topic in question is titled "Swiftswitch is not allowed" and is located in the

General Runescape forum on the Runescape official boards.)

And that's enough for me. Whether any Zybez staff member claims to have proof

of the opposite is completely irrelevant. Swiftswitch should stay banned from this website.

Dear The Sith,

Thanks for taking the time out to get in contact with us here at Runescape.

As is clearly stated within the Forums Swiftswitch is *not legal*.

Hope that helps,

Game On.. ..

Sincerely,

On 4th April 2005 you sent us the following:

Hi there, I would like to know your *official* stance on "sorry, it's still illegal" as of 04/04/2005. I know the views in general about third party clients, but I would like to know, specifically, if "sorry, it's still illegal" is either: ILLEGAL or LEGAL. Posting this on the main website as a news item will clear things up for many, not to mention improve major fansites relations with other fansites.

But many people will argue the opposite. Anyways, just telling you our stance along with what it is. Am locking this since your question has been answered and there really isn't any need for discussion. :)
