A pickaxe is needed to obtain the ores and should be included in a required items list. also the mining lvl to mine iron should be included. along with a note that mining the ores yourself is not required.

You yourself note that mining the ores is not required. Therefore, a pickaxe and 15 mining are also not required. Recommended, perhaps, but not required.
