Desert Treasure

Featured Replies

The Desert Treasure guide needs an important note added to it for the fight against lvl-167 Fareed in the Smoke Diamond part. I would definitely add a note to warn players to pray melee against him regardless of what combat style they choose to use against him. His melee hits in low to mid 30s (33 against me) and I was wearing Guthans. He rarely uses his magic attack and even so, it only and hits around 5 - 10 on my melee armor.

Anways, just figured it would help players in deciding what attack style to use against him.

I do not have any proof shots if you need them -- was too busy staying alive. #-o

I completed this part of the quest this evening and I have to agree. His melee attack is devastating. I would alter the quest guide a little, something like this...

5- Run back to the east part of the cave, you will see a gate. Open it with your new key. A lvl 167 fire demon named Fareed will appear. He will make you drop your weapon if you don't wear your Ice gloves during battle. He attacks with a relatively weak Magic attack when compared to his devastating Melee attack, which can hit into the 30s and higher.

6- Turn on the Protect from Melee prayer and start fighting. If you don't have your Ice gloves then you can't wield any weapons. The best idea is then to bring runes to repeatedly cast an offensive water spell against him, but remember you can not wield any staves without ice gloves. You can't use other offensive spells.
