The affect of summoning on combat

I was considering getting some summoning levels, but I was not keen on how they affected your combat level.... I know that the familiars are heaps handy for lots of different situations so I'm considering it again.... But I have a few questions...

 

 

 

 

 

Does summoning affect entrance into certain BH craters?

 

Does summoning who you can atk and who can atk you on pvp worlds?

 

Does summoning affect which boat you can go on in pest control?

 

 

 

And if no to all of these, other than bragging rights to higher combat, what would it affect...?

Summoning raises your combat level in all instances except pvp. On pvp it is written as (combat level without summoning) + (combat levels you gained because of summoning) unless you have a familiar with you, then it is written as your normal combat level.

The reason I ask is because so many pures don't raise it... I'm not a pure but I was thinking about one and so I guess my lead on question from that is why don't they raise it?

I guess most pures don't know it doesn't change your pvp combat level, don't want to train it, or don't have the cash to train it.

Summoning can be pretty expensive, though I've made my way to 22 without paying a single coin =P

 

 

 

As to combat, it doesn't affect pvp or bh cmb lvls, and it does help with the boats in PC.
