Montana93010
Hey all. So I was wondering what melee stats are required to use Duradel fairly efficiently? with and without 68 summoning. Also is a cannon required for using Duradel efficiently? and if so, what kind of ranged level would I need? Is guthan's neccessary? Finally, is there anything else (stats or items wise) that I would need to use Duradel efficiently? Thanks! Edit: After reading a reply, I want to update my original post with additional facts. I am willing and able to spend up to 10 million (I'd prefer not to blow all 10 million if it's not needed though). As for my quest status, I have 166 quest points. What quest are important to use Duradel efficiently? Thanks all! Click here to visit my Blog!! Ubermager716
Well, my stats are in my sig and duradel is honestly a pain for me. I can't really finish his tasks quickly and efficiently, so my best advice would be...higher than my stats. [ -Barrows Drops- 1 Dharok's Helm,1 Ahrim's Robetop,1 Torag's Hammers, 1 Dragon Med -GWD Drops- 1 Shard -DK Drops- 7 Dragon Axes, 7 Berserker Rings, 7 Warrior Rings, 2 Archer Rings, 1 Dragon Med
ladycai
I used a cannon for a while with Duradel, it really helps when you have assignments like abberent spectres (in Pollivneach dungeon). I'll say 75+ is effective. As for stat requirements, 68 summoning is already tackled for tougher monsters like waterfiends and dust devils (not so much tough, but if you fight the ones in Chaos Tunnels, it'll save you nice B2P tablets, or uses of guthans if you heal in the nearby rooms). I've seen people start using Duradel with 45 defense and 70 att/str, but I started using him when I was 75 defense, 80 attack, 80 strength, 85 mage and 80 range. On the contrary, I would have used him earlier had I not the slayer requirement. EDIT: I was somewhere at 110 combat with 52+ summoning and 60+ prayer when I used him. I remember that my mage was high as compared to my other stats, which made some tasks easier when I tanked with dragonhide. 95/99 Summoning95/99 Slayer [hide=This is what you look like when you play RS too long][/hide]
Zaaps1
Tbh once you hit 100 combat you should be able to deal with most tasks perfectly fine. It was the case for me and most of my friends. Perhaps the only challenging ones would be metals (esp. miths if you lack attack or ranged levels), MAYBE scarabites, and greaters (but only because of the wild dogs). At your level and stats, you should be able to get good xp from Duradel's tasks, better than Sumona at least. However, you never told us your quest status, or your price range. If both are low, except fairly slow slayer xp. Half of Duradel's tasks require a cannon to make the most of it, however only a handful actually need the cannon to make a significant improvement (mutated bloodvelds v. fire giants, for example). So if I were you, I would first check my funds, then complete any quests that would benefit slayer, then hop to the Duradel boat. And to your bunyip question, while 68 may help tremendously, you won't need it. You should do perfectly fine without it if you have guthans. ~It's Super Effective! So is it a matter of guthan's OR bunyip, only one of the two is neccessary? or is guthan's neccesary and a bunyip just an additional luxury? I have about 12 million in items atm, and I suppose I am willing to spend around 10 million or so (1.5 million of the 2 million difference is my whip, which I obviously am going to need so, and the rest is just emergency cash i guess). As for my quest status, it is rather poor. I have 166 quest points right now. What quests are important for Duradel's tasks? Thank you  Click here to visit my Blog!! Thank you  10 is enough, although you'll want to keep herb farming and the like to keep it up. If you don't have a bunyip, you SHOULD have guthans, although most tasks you should be able to get by without it. It's a luxury. QUESTS: Legacy of Seergaze Smoking kills Dealing with Scarabas <--many would say don't do this. These are actually very good, but also very dangerous. There's a less dangerous place to kill them in the swamp by the Statue of Scarabas, but the fastest place is in the Contact Dungeon Catacombs. Very dangerous, be very careful.
