What's the quickest/most efficient way to train crafting? Is it still all about making dragonhide armour? And if so, do the bodies sell on the GE or should they be alched?

Green bodies, they sell in ge, or alch + making your own nats for less of a loss

with sc needles that lowers the amount needed (cost)

Assuming you have 94 runecrafting you should make green dhide bodies and make some blue when you want a break from green.
