Was wondering if this would be better exp per hr than at ape atoll, considering you spend your zeal on mage exp as well.

Well, it could be, but only if you keep using aoe spells on the enemy's avatar (hitting the avatar + people)

No it defintely isn't. Everyone piles ancients in that game, it's kind of an unsaid thing. :P
