I recently downloaded Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl from Steam. It downloaded fine, no issues, it runs well (just a big of lag every so often, nothing big), but there's one problem; I can't save my game. I go to the menu, save game, etc. but when I click the "load" button, there's no option to load anything. Quickload and Last Save don't do anything, either.

 

 

 

The game registers it as saving saved; that is, there's no error message, it even says, "Game saved". Quicksave gives the same message. It just doesn't work. I've tried reinstalling it twice, and that hasn't worked. From what i can tell, Steam automatically downloads patches, right? If it doesn't, could that be a problem? The version number in the corner is more than 1.0, can't recall exactly, but that means that some patch has been added, yes? Any help, however useful, is greatly appreciated.

I know that both Stalker games have had problems with crashes, the latest for Shadows is .6 (but i don't know if it works with digital versions).

(dunno if you also need to install all older patches aswell, or if the later ones are baked together with old patches and newer ones).

The game says it's already v1.0005, but I'm trying it anyway. EST 14 minute wait.

 

 

 

Edit: Yea, it says its's already installed.

Haha! I found the solution. Since my hardrive isn't C:/, I had to find a document in the game files and set the drive to where mine is. It worked! Thanks Joe for your idea :thumbup: So yea, this can be closed.
