When you search black dragons in the bestiary, Kree, 4 vyrewatchs, 2 mutated bloodvelds, and an elite dark ranger show up. I don't think any are actually classified as black dragons. Just a heads up. ::'

It's worth noting that they all drop black dragonhide armour pieces, which is why they're coming up.

Abyssal Demon, Karamel, and Black Demon all come up for a search for "whip." The abyssal demons drop abyssal whips, the use of abyssal whips is mentioned in the entry for black demons, and Karamel's examin information is "Pure evil lightly whipped with a juicy cherry on top."

In short, they're not coming up because they're classed as black dragons, but because "black" and "dragon" are in the entry.

^ what he said.

However, using the "race" field and setting it to Dragon would resolve this issue.

Hope this helps.

it's a lot easier to get over yourself when you look at intelligence the same way you look at beauty, or height, or eye color: being smart is easy, but being good is hard ... being smart is handed to you, being good is handed to *nobody*.
