A little predicament...GOOD MINING ADVICE NEEDED TOO!

ok, so at my new mining spot, i can get ~30k exp an hr, maybe a little less. my question is, after i get 85 mining, should i move to granite and get ~40k/hr with no money made or stay here and get ~30k/hr with very decent money made? either way, im going to do 92-99 granite, thats for sure, but for 85-92, what should i do?

Personally I would stick with this mining place you're currently using. I mean, the difference of ~10k/hr isn't such a large gap, and in my eyes would be worth missing out on if I had the chance of some decent profit while mining at the same time.

Does money mean a lot to you by any chance - Or do you just want to level up quicker?

10k an hour is a HUGE gap.

First off, granite isn't 40k. That's extremely low. You should be able to get 60k consistently, and if you're good, 80k is possible. That makes the difference more like 30k. So now it depends on how much money you are making exactly using your method. If you powermine granite, you'll get the level at least twice as fast. At 84 mining I'd say you still have about 9m xp to go, am I correct? That's 150 hours of granite, or 300 hours of what you are doing. In those extra 150 hours, you could be mining rune, which nets at least 600k per hour, but averages 700k. So while you may be marginally gaining profit while you are mining, you are "losing" 105m.

In conclusion, when you are doing your method, if you can gain over 105m in profits, then it is better. If you cannot, you're better off powering granite and then mining rune.

Also remember mining rune is semi-afkable, so that's less concentration needed from you.

but im not planning on mining rune AT ALL, as it is terrible money. u have to be really lucky just to find a world that isnt already been mined. then luckier to find another world after that.

as for granite exp rates, i cannot imagine how 60k exp is possible per hr. explain this method?

Not really. If you mine at Light Temple 3/4 of the worlds are empty and with ore. If you time the worlds correctly, all you really need are like 10 worlds and you can get upwards of 800k per hour. It's nothing hard really, but if you hate it that much then you could replace the 150 hours mining rune with doing whatever you do to make money normally. So if you make 400k an hour normally, then your method would need to make about 50m to be worth it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=myZ-gwJudoE

Vid for 80k per hour, it's also nothing difficult. But that vid uses an advanced technique. If you click the rock/tree/fishing spot and drop something within the next half-second or so, you'll drop the item without delay. It's the key to fast xp, but it's not necessary at all. If you follow the video without using that technique, you should easily get 60k per hour.

Basically you mine and drop granite. You bring along about 16 waterskins and humidify runes (Enchanted Water Tiara is fail in this case.) Then you just mine and drop away, mining 3 granite and dropping 3 granite before the first rock respawns. So you mine 3 ore, drop 3 ore, then by that time the first rock should have ore again.

If you have an Obby Golem or Fire Titan, they help a lot.

Also, it's worth star hunting. It's good xp, and you get money, and it's afkable. Check out the green link in my sig for my star mining guide, it'll help you a lot if you decide to do that.

Well, Enchanted Water Tiara would suffice, but if you haven't done either quest, do the Lunar one since the reward is much more useful.

Humidify is cheaper than using the Tiara, and you get mage xp too. You need more inventory space, but that doesn't matter since you only need 3 to begin with.

Enankra's Lament is not required to mine granite, although it is required if you want to break it down into 500g pieces to sell or whatever.

The quest for the EWT is Dealing with Scarabas, which is a fairly hard quest. Again, if you don't have that done, might as well do Lunar Diplomacy as it is more useful.

Don't think about the time needed to complete the quests, the huge xp boost in granite makes up for it. And if all else fails, just use regular waterskins.

Well you said something about Enankra, so I assumed you were confused. My mistake.

Yeah I sort of predicted that, there's still plenty of options. You really should try your best to powermine granite. It really is the best option.

Yeah, he said he didn't want to mine rune as well. But that doesn't matter. My next reply stated that whatever he did, granite would most likely be the better option.
