Make a Advertising Category!

Featured Replies

Alright, most people know that there is one topic that you can post any website link you wish. But truely, no one actually looks there because there are like 300 pages of website links! Who is actually going to spend like 24 hours searching that topic? I think that there should be an 'Advertising' topic where you can actually show a title and explain what the site is about. Anyone agree?

Why should there be? If people care enough about advertising topics, they'll visit the sticky. If they don't, they'll simply stay away from an advertising forum.

Oh, and that green font makes your post basically unreadable on prosilver.

Pretty much what I was going to say. I don't see why people would be more inclined to visit a forum than a sticky. Yes it may be easier to navigate through, but I still don't think people would be drawn to a forum.

You are more than welcome to advertise in your signature (as long as the advertisements are appropriate). I think that, combined with the sticky, is enough. If you put links in your signature, people will see it wherever you post. But please don't post random, useless comments just so people will see your signature. That is not okay.

And please be courteous to people using different skins by leaving your font as the default colour, rather than making it green. It can be very straining for people with different skins to read certain colours. Sometimes they even have to highlight your text to read it.

The advertising sticky is where we have people put all the stuff we don't want to read. I'm in favor of taking it away and banning advertisements (Except in signatures) altogether, because signatures are seriously the only place people will pay attention to an advertisement.

I think the thread suffices. Why would we want to allow people more chance to advertise as it is, people will end up joining, advertising their 'brand new runescape site', and leaving. The sticky is full of links like that as it is, and I'm sure most people don't visit them. Plus this doesn't benefit the community/forum, just the odd person here and there who wishes to advertise.

So I disagree with the need.

As already said, it's kind of just a place to throw adverts because we don't need them spammed all over the forums. No one reads the sticky - no one would read a forum.

If you want to advertise, I'd suggest doing so in your signature.
