Basically, what you do is create multiple layers using an image editing program (photoshop, gimp, etc. NOT PAINT!). On each layer, create a "frame" for your animation.

 

 

 

If you are using gimp (a free program), just go to file | save and save as a gif. Then, following the directions of the dialog, you will have the option of saving it as an animation, and choosing how many milliseconds should go before the frame changes. If you are only animating text, you should go to duplicate layer, and then modify the text to create the effect. Hope you can understand this...

i saw a tut a year ago for that. i never did get it working. but the basic was: make a layermask>make gradient bar or something like that. have u had any experince with photoshop?
