I found that Green D'Hide Bodies worked pretty well for me.

Don't alch, superheat. Same amount of clicking. If you superheat mith, it's about the same mage xp with additional smithing xp and you will break even (on average). If you superheat iron, you get 80-90k xp per hour, but it will cost double alching. Still, it's worth it since you get smithing xp.

 

 

 

If you do persist on alching, I'd recommend adamant platebodies as well. Do research on rune items, depending on the prices they can be decent as well.
