Need some suggestions/tips for my pixel sig

Heres a pixel sig I've been working on:

I plan for the BG to be the inside of a wooden house with bars and other smithing and crafting stuff laying around. If anyone has anything to add to that, or has some suggestions for what I've already done, please feel free to comment.

Weel, I think you could add some armors in the BG, and some bars too

The man is by far the weakest part of it, IMO. Right now it looks entirely flat (like paper)... and then it's chamfered out on the side. No human should look like this.

If no details, than wrinkles/folds at least.

And you have to decide how tight you want the shirt to be, and how muscular the guy is. If he's buff and wearing a tight shirt, some of his muscles might be visible. If he's tubby and he's wearing a tight shirt, his belly might be sticking out.

Loose shirts don't emphasize the body shape too much.. but it doesn't look like that's what you're using here.

You've repeated this same "chamfer" shading all over. On the gloves, hair, even the face.

The anvil (and furnace, to an extent) are nice, but it seems to fall apart at the man in the middle.

he's holding the pick axe wrong, and the man needs more shading. 3 color chading is NOT the way to go, grasshoppa. Add some colors in between, maybe some red on the shirt because of the furnace's light.

I agree with Maxiemumu, you need to shade it better, and fiz the pickaxe holding.

Thanks for your suggestions guys. This is only the second pixel sig I've done and the first with shading, and I've heard 3 colors is good for beginners, but there were several times when I was drawing that I wished I had done 4. I think I'll just take all the color out of the man and start over with 4. The anvil looks fine I think, and I'll just add some more shades of gray to the furnace. Also with the pick, it looks like if I rotate it a few degrees clockwise leaving the hand where it is, it will look right.
