  1. I downloaded Microsoft GIF Animator, works great, thanks!
  2. Are there any free programs that I can download (legal of course) to use for making animated sigs?
  3. Problem fixed! The driver was on the board, so I couldn't reinstall it, but I downloaded an update and it seems to work fine now. The RS music and Itunes works now, but I haven't tried movies yet.
  4. Lately the sound has been going on and off on my computer. It works for some things, but not others. Mainly, It doesn't play the audio on movies and I can't hear the music on RS, although for some reason the RS sound effects work on and off. I've posted before, and someone told me to delete all the midi files, but that only worked for a few days only with movies. I know it's a software problem, so could one of you super-duper computer guys out there help me?
  5. Bumb, didn't want this to die, it's useful.
  6. I've never been in a car accident, but a few weeks ago my bus got rear-ended by a guy going 55mph and not paying attention to what was going on in front of him. The bus had stopped to let someone off so the force of impact was pretty much the full 55, and had someone been getting off the bus at the time, they would have most likely ended up severly injured. Everyone was ok though, except for when I thought I had whiplash because all these lawyers were bombarding me with letters...
  7. I've been experimenting a bit lately, and not talking definetly has something to do with it. I smelted 13k coal and only spoke every now and then, and I was bombarded with MOMs, pirates, the Miles guy, and a few drunken dwarves. The last time I smelted that much, I was talking a whole lot to relieve the boredom, and I barely got anything. I play with my public chat on, but I'm not sure if having it off affects anything.
  8. It's not that I'm against mainstream, that's not what I meant at all, perhaps I was unclear. But what I meant to say was that you should have a good mix of each, as you will see that unpopular games (movies, music etc. etc.) are just as good (and often far superior) to mainstream. And if you'd look beyond games of the mainstream. (see Grim Fandango, if you've played it, or even heard of it.........) for some creative and original storytelling. Or if you want some other super-human soldier fighting aliens to save the human race, like Halo...(how original...) you might as well get System Shock 2 that has a far superior story and is told in a more effective way. I like some things in the mainstream (GTA series are extremely brilliant, as they can bring together both harcore gamers [with its good story and amazing writing and it's original style] and first timers) Oh yeah, I definetly agree with diversity, I play many unknown and unliked games; Mafia-bad graphics but a great story, and Pirates of the Carribean-great game except for the ending where Disney obviously stepped in and tried to change the whole story, are some example off the top of my head.I'm still going to have to disagree with you on Halo though. Sure the whole "super soldier defending earth thing" has been done before, but the twist about the aliens theocracy with prophets as religious and military leaders is what I think seperates it from all the other alien shoot em-ups. I think it would be best to agree to disagree on that one, besides being way off topic, everyone has been through enough Halo/anti-Halo arguments already. back on topic: I hope the Halo movie is good, if I hear bad things though, I doubt I'll watch it. It could probably be a half-decent movie if they just stick with the story and not try to make it look like a video game *cough*cough* Doom *cough*.
  9. I wish people would stop bashing Halo and Halo fans. I got hooked on it when it first came out because it was a great game to me and a lot of fun. I think just like how there are people who are "force fed" mainstream games, there are those who automatically hate mainstream things just because they wish to appear above the average populace, even if they might really like the game if they gave it a chance.
  10. It sucked for PC. I think the plot is pretty compelling for a movie in the first game for those that know it, but they'd have to add some character interaction, cuz its just MC alone the entire time with that chick in his head. What are you kidding me? I could easily think of 20 games that deserve a movie far more than this. The story in this is more of an after thought than a fully fleshed out story. Not to mention...LOTR (since Peter Jackson is involved [though not even directing], all those LOTR junkies will be in the mix)+Halo is a dangerous mix. I'm not going near the theatre until all the rush of those people is over. Actually, what am I talking about, I'm not giving Microsoft any more money. Halo was a horrible game. I'll wait for DVD. And this is clearly only a cry for money, and to appeal those blasted Halo fans, who don't know what a good game is. *shivers* Thats kind of unfair, you say that like it's a bad thing. What product isn't created to make money?, and what entertainment product isn't targeted at a certain group of people to produce the maximum amount of income possible? Also, I don't mind another person disliking what I like, but is it necissary to say Halo fans have bad taste? I'm sure you would be just as annoyed if I said you had bad taste for not liking something I like.
  11. I stopped by the EB store and found you can reserve one for $50, I didn't think to ask whether it was the $300 or the $400 bundle however.
  12. Is there anywhere to pre-order a 360 online that isn't in a $800 bundle? Also, at the EB site, you could pre-order the 360, but they are currently out of stock
  13. Wow, the wonders of redownloading. I tried that once before, but there must have traces of it left after I uninstalled because it wouldn't download again. Today though, after I restarted my computer everything worked fine.
  14. I haven't had an event that gives you clothes...ever.
  15. What about Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire? I thought that was coming to theaters around Christmas.
  16. I downloaded Picasa 2 and saved it first to program files and then to the desktop like the site said to, but whenever I try to open it I get the "not a valid win32 application". I'm using Internet Explorer 5.0 like it said, and my comp fits all the system requirements, but the installer still won't work. There were a few support tips, and I tried them all, but none worked so I came here. Can anyone help?
  17. Thats still a lot more than my 0 mimes in 11 months, showing that it may have something to do with it. So, my question to you is: are you an idiot? or do you just post without reading any of the other posts?
  18. This is the only one I've tried so far, I had to use spam because we were out of ham, but it was still good. I'll give some of the others a shot once I conquer my fear of the oven and have some extra time on my hands, most of the time leftovers work for me.
  19. I'm not much of a cook myself, but I thought it would be neat to have a place to share tasty recipies that you know or have invented, favorite meals, quick but tasty meals, good snacks, etc. Also, any culture specific foods would be awsome to hear about, I'm always looking for something new. heres one I came up for unfrosted pop tarts since I dislike the frosted ones so much: get an unfrosted pop tart of your favorite flavor, spread some butter on the top (you may want to microwave it for a few seconds to soften it up), sprinkle some brown sugar, a little cinnamon, or anything else you think might taste good on it, and then stick it in the microwave for about 15 seconds (or however long it takes to melt the butter a bit depending on the microwave), and once it's ready, enjoy. You might also try toasting it a bit before putting everything else on if you like it a bit crunchier and want the filling to be warm
  20. I saw it when it was first out before anyone was crazy about it, and I thought it was hilarious, but now after all the quoting I don't think I could bring myself to watch it again.
  21. The pilots did a great job, but I think they were pretty safe to start off with, planes like that are designed to be able to make an emergency landing with no landing gear at all if they have to, although thats the last thing anyone wants. edit:typo
  22. They're doing more than that, lately there have been many demonstrations, conventions, all those sorts of things, in Japan to help promote the 360, much more is being done in Japan than was done with the original Xbox. While I'm glad the 360 will have a bigger marketplace, I'm disappointed that it will have all those Japanese titles attached to it, I thought of the Xbox as, for lack of better words, the "anime free" system.

    Halo2

You can use a hub to hook up that many, and then 4 on each Xbox=20, but only 16 people can play one match at a time, the other 4 can sit around or play their own match, or just play many matches at the same time with less people in each. Just think of it as a mini version of Xbox live, except offline. I've never been at a LAN party with that many people, but about once a month me and 3 of my best friends get together and link 4 Xbox's so we can each have a tv to ourselves. We bought headsets and play in seperate rooms just to be able to get into the game more and have a semi-Live experience. I wish I could get Xbox Live, but high-speed interent isn't available where I live, the only way to play it is to go to this trading card shop in the mall.
  24. I write down stuff that comes to me when I'm trying to go to sleep, big ideas, plans, and things like that. I started doing that when I would wake up the next day and feel like I was forgetting something really important As for the "street smarts" vs. "book smarts", I think which is more important really depends on your strengths, where you live, what you do(occupation), and how you get through life. A person could do very well for themselves being able to talk to people and make bargains and deals, and another could do just fine outsmarting others and doing brilliant work that requires little people skills. I think it would be best to have a mix of the two, being able to communicate with people what you need and want is important, but it's also good to have some deeper intelligence to show that you're not just all talk and can support what you say. I prefer to accquire usefull information by just listening to people who seem to know a great deal about a certain subject then comparing it to what I already know and what others say, and then draw conclusions from that. I think it is good to do this with topics that people usually have a very bias opinion on, such as politics, where it would otherwise be nearly impossible to find the actual facts.
  25. GJ, that's something I could have gone without reading :| lol not in that way... I mean I'm very animated when I play, one of those people who leans left and right when they make turns in a racing game and jumps up and down as if it would make the football player in the game run faster
