Your are all aware of the cut off point for most skills. That is where leveling past a certain level is pointless because there is no new content. This is true for most skills and even combat skills have a cut off point.

 

 

 

You may disagree on adding more and more high leveled combat gear but I have a suggestion that could fill in these gaps and not add any more over powered pvp gear.

 

 

 

My suggestion is simple. Introduce equipment that can only be player made, is not tradeable, and finally, can not be used on pvp worlds but that could still be used for safe mini games such as soul wars.

 

 

 

Most pkers will probably flame me for this but it is true. With ags, d claws and other recent combat gear you can two hit someone with 99 hp and adding weapons that can hit higher would just be a waste and further degrade pvp. Only if the hp level was raised could stronger pvp gear be introduced without further destroying the triangle. But if we added higher combat gear that can hit harder, faster and stronger without being used for pking this would mean that higher level monsters could be introduced and existing monsters could also be killed more easily by higher level players without destroying the pvp triangle.

 

 

 

My suggestion is for adding new content to all skills at the 80 and 90 mark to fill in the gaps and make it harder to obtain these higher powered armors by simply just buying.

 

 

 

For instance, the armor at the lv 80 mark could have stats that are better than god wars equipment but the level 90 gear could have slightly better stats then the lv 80 but it would also have a special ability. More on that latter.

 

 

 

For instance in order to make a new bow you would first have to use an equivalent farming and wood cutting level in order to grow a special tree to make it. Then using crafting make a bow string from the roots of that tree as well. Using the fletching skill you could fletch and string the bow the bow and make arrows with special arrow heads that could be obtained as either a slayer drop or as hunting drops similar to kebbit bolts. It would be the same with cross bows except including the smithing skill to make the stocks.

 

 

 

This could work with all weapons, armors, and shields with the added bonus that for armor such as range and mage armor you would need to use the slayer skill in order to kill special monsters in order to obtain hides to craft with.

 

 

 

After this you will then need to make a potion using herblore and enchant it with a magic spell which will then be poured over your armor and weapons giving them magical properties so that they are just not ordinary hunks of wood and mettle.

 

 

 

This could be done with all armors and even tools such as harpoons, hatchets, pick axes, and all the other gear we use for training non combat skills.

[hide=slayer]one of the monsters that attracts rangers and mages both is the empress dragon! ages ago a massive war was fought between the king black dragon and magnificent golden empress dragon for control of the dragon race. the empress dragon lost and the king black dragon sealed her away inside of a dungeon hoping that this imprisonment would convince her to join his cause. now a dungeon has been unsealed and slayers from all over are rushing in to fight her in the hopes of collecting her hides for use in making the finest range armor ever to grace gilenor. and collecting her cast off claws and teeth for use in the strongest bolts and arrows to ever be used.

 

 

 

mages even seek to match their skills against this beast in the hopes of collecting her golden main for use in weaving the strongest silk robes to ever have been woven.[/hide]

 

 

 

[hide=crafting]once these fabulous materials have been collected a competent crafter is able to weave the golden main into the finest mage robes ever seen and to sew the hides together into the greatest range armor to ever grace the lands.[/hide]

[hide=hunter]of course before you make your bow you will need to find feathers for the arrows and bolts. no those chicken feathers won't do, we need something grander, something stronger, something that can take a lot of punishment. ah i sure hate to be the poor sap who has to track down the beast that those belong to. what you need of course are the feathers of an adult griffin! heading into the mountains you will need to use your tracking skills to find this illustrious.... bird? and collect its feathers for making your arrows.[/hide]

 

 

 

[hide=fletching]using your fletching skill you must now carve these massive logs into either a bow or cross bow and with the aid or a skilled crafter turn the roots of this tree into a string that would make even the elves envious. of course what is a bow without arrows? making shafts from the logs you have gathered you can now feather them with the feathers of a griffin.[/hide]

 

 

 

[hide=herblore]didn't think you were done yet did you? for all these grand materials they are still just sticks and stones. aggie has been working on a new potion to be used to strengthen and enhance a substances natural properties. unfortunately shes having problems obtaining several ingredients for this potion and she could really use your help. one of these ingredients in a herb called drake fang. unfortunately it is a rare herb from the eastern lands and none of it has ever survived transport to our kingdom. instead you will need to obtain a seed and grow one right from scratch. oh and be careful aggie has grown found of you and i hear drake fang has a nasty bite.[/hide]

And finally for those that do reach the 90 mark in order to make these weapons and armor they will get a special reward. I have thought for a while on how to incorporate summoning into this formula and it got me thinking of a whole new use for familiars. Instead of binding the familiars to a pouch people who have made the new armors could bind familiars right into their own armor! this could give added bonuses such as adding a fire titan to a chest body would increase your resistance to fire based attacks. While adding talon beasts to weapons could give your weapon a three hit special attack. With the amount of summoning familiars the combinations would be endless! These familiars would of course vanish after a time and would need to add another one to your armor giving you the chance to switch which kinds of familiars you want added to your equipment. you will not need 90+ summoning in order to bind a familiar to a piece of equipment but it sure helps having a geyser titan instead of a lowly dreadfowl.

50 would to too hard to implement as we have granite, rune and dragon.

 

 

 

The higher level idea I like, summoning and armour would be cool even if it was only a colour scheme.
