Every now and then this message appears and annoys the hell out of me "You cannot make another post so soon after your last."

 

I understand its there to stop spam, but is it possible to remove or reduce the time depending on the users rank or post count?

 

 

 

As I have over 1700 posts (well over 2000 if you include the posts per roll back), I find it annoying I've been using these forums for over 3 years and I still have to wait for the same time between posts as a newbie would.

 

 

 

I'm sure there are some other regular posters who feel the same about this.

 

 

 

My suggestion

 

 

 

Have the timer set up against the user and not a general delay.

 

 

 

I'm not sure if theres a mod out there for this, but I'm looking now.

With the current system it is not practical, as users would have to be added to a group manually. I doubt you'll get anyone to install a mod (Unless you're really convincing.) Also, 60 seconds is fine.

Agree completely. Many H&A threads can be read and responded to throughally and correctly in under ten seconds. So I spend1/6th my time responding, and 5/6ths waiting. Luckily, I developed a greasemonkey script to help with the submitting so it doesn't bother me as much any more, but it's still annoying.

Set an arbitrary post count requirement, say, 3k+ posts. We've been around a lot and responded many times, special privileges wouldn't hurt.

 

 

 

Also, this is INCREDIBLY annoying in forum games, where a post is often a few characters that take less then a second to type.
