Hey, is it possible to break even with Smithing? I tried to make iron knives, but making those isn't going to make you break even anymore. :cry:

nearly, if you make iron nails and sell em to me, lose ~10-15k per 1k

Not if you bought any of the materials.

 

If you actually smith the bars you will make much more Xp but only half the money you would just selling the bars.

Depends how and what you're smithing:

 

 

 

Smelting = yes

 

Smithing = no

 

 

 

Smelting ores into bars will make profit..... i know when i was doing mith i was making about 200gp profit per bar. Just buy the ores on the GE smith them and sell them.

 

Also if you smelt cannonballs you'll make profit, and i believe you can make about 64gp profit if you do it by superheating - buying ores, and nats to smith steel bars then furnace for cballs.

 

 

 

other than that nope, smithing doesn't really profit

Dutch, like me, is F2P. Unfortunately, we can't make cannonballs.

Unless he's referring to iron throwing knives, which are members, I think he might have meant iron daggers.

Still then if you're F2P you'll make a profit with steel bars or higher.
