has anyone found a somewhat good way of obtaining it or should i stick to slayer for junk drops?

If you have junk or gain it from skilling, use it. However, don't go out to make junk. You can make money in other ways faster than you can make junk.

When I'm REALLY bored I fletch maple logs from my kingdom into longbows(u). This gets me a decent amount of junk, so I have it lying around when I need it.
