rangeor
Up until recently whenever I'd mess around with GIMP I'd often forget the goal is to make a piece of art, and instead I would just try and make things look cool. Well, I got tired of that and decided to try and make something that could vaguely be considered art. Here is the result. [hide=it's big!][/hide] Edit: Added a dark gradient map to tone down the colors a bit. [hide=v2][/hide] Opinions?

Shiny
The saturation and constrast on some of those colours is quite bad. Tone it down quite a bit.
Jason321
Hmm. I think the colours wouldn't be too bad if they were less bright. It doesn't hurt my eyes at all, they're just not appealling. I don't really like the effects, but I'm curious to know what you did to make this. I followed this tut: http://www.tutorial9.net/photoshop/crea ... ng-effect/ then experimented with gradient maps and filters a little bit after that.
