What is the fastest way to get to the black demons at the Chaos Tunnels. And what will I need to protect myself from monsters I run into. I don't need the portals and all that, I just need the spot of the wilderness I need to enter through, and any additional equipment I will need to protect myself while running through.

Right above the monastery and prot from melee except for dust devils and monks if they arn't aggresive against you

I just go to the bank at Edgeville, then cross the ditch north of there. From there, I run northwest until I reach the south western most rift to the chaos tunnels. You should be in the gargoyles room. From there, go to the northwest portal, to go to the mummies. Then go to the western portal, to go to the zamorak mages, then the northeast portal, to go the dust devils, and finally the portal just north of where you end up, to go to the black demons. Then I just kill the two black demons in the eastern part of the room.

 

EDIT: Sorry, I didn't see the part where you stated that you don't need the portals :s. Anyways, just go to the rift north of the monastery.
