Cannoning Black Demons for charms

I heard they fixed the drop rate for charms, and was wondering how good they were now. I do realize that there are other, better options, but I'm looking for a way to collect them while affecting my combat level as little as possible. Also, is it possible to go from 75 to 99 summoning on these, without getting 99 range from 85 in the process?

The drop rate was never "fixed" rather the ones in Taverly dungeon give equal amount as the chaos tunnel's one does (there are multiple safespots for both). Also you definitely get 99 range first then 99 summoning. Another option would be to burst/barrage rock lobsters after you range as far as you can.

 

 

 

You really should go to waterfiends though.

I realize the rate was never "fixed" for the monster as a whole, but you can't cannon in the chaos tunnels. Anyone else have any input on this? I don't plan to range while I cannon, so I was hoping that the reduced xp would get me enough charms. While bursting and waterfiends may be an option, my hp level has me worried. I'm trying to get a untrimmed summoning cape, and with my hp at 86, I'm scared either of those may put me at 99.

Why do you want an untrimmed summoning cape anyway? Getting a trimmed summoning cape is already a huge accomplishment.

 

 

 

Anyway, you can convert pouches into scrolls all the way to 99, because that means you don't have to gather charms. Killing waterfiends is also an option. Lets say that you get 150 hp xp from every waterfiend you kill. They drop a crimson charm 80% of the time. At average, a crimson charm gives 380 summoning xp. 380*0.8=304. So for every waterfiend you kill you can expect 150 hp xp and 304 summoning xp. So waterfiends will be your best option if you want an untrimmed summoning cape.

Cannoning would work. You could also get a friend who wants mage exp to go burst rock lobs and have LootShare on. With that you get chances to get charms and little to no exp. You could also play some SoulWars and use your points on Zeal. Also when you get randoms just pick the charms.

 

 

 

Good Luck on getting untrimmed Summoning Cape. I know someone else that gotten it, but idk how she done hers. I think she just did a lot of slayer.
