  1. I was wondering when this was going to make it to TIF. In a perfect world all skills would be valued equally, and I welcome this change which allows Runecrafting to be trained in a greater variety of ways. To call it the worst update ever is absurd hyperbole. People do love a good rant about anything that makes anything remotely easier! Yet compared to some alterations this kinda thing is nothing (Thinking cook-x, fletch-x, smith-x smelt-x). The irony is I'm sure half the people who rant about it being easier and losing respect for the skill if they had been there way back when would've been ranting to the moon and back about how hard cooking, smithing and fletching were; all 3 went from skills that were probably the slowest and hardest to do in game due to clicking amounts to the no big deal buyable 99s you can do in a week or 2 overnight (well smithing is still a little better off due to high costs but still); proud to say I got cooking and fletching to 99 before x came and tbh normal rc was far more painful to do so this is a welcome change! At this place the best rates are still only around 50k xp:hr, so still 260+ hours for 1-99, assuming an average player does around 5 hours a day tops that still 2 whole months. Tbh I find most 'easier' rants are thinly veiled greed since most easier methods are less profitable, after all consider how many rants about this easier profit free rc existing compared to how many rants there were about double speed cballs. Also totally agree about you dismissal of people saying it shouldn't be called runecrafting because you're not making runes because it's quite clear you are making runes. Like you said you still use essence and make it into runes, only alterations are you don't keep the runes and rather than holding ess to an altar stone you hold it to an energy node/monster. I was kind of suprised that i was the first one to rant about this in this topic, after 10 pages of chit-chat about xp rates. But my main point was not the xp rates . The whole concept of the runespan is just terribly bland. They could have done so much more with the runes you are making in the runespan. Now all you can do with them is give them to a wizard or exchange them for points. The whole thing seems rushed. I expected a fun new way to train runecrafting, but siphoning runes from a creature hour after hour is all but fun. The graphics are nice, yes. But the gameplay is bland and boring, and that is what matters the most. I might have made the impression that i am against any update that makes a skill easier/more probitable/faster to train. That is not true. I love diversity in runescape, and i'm sure we all do. But everything falls or stands (is this even english) with the concept. GOP was great, a fun minigame and cool rewards. The abyss was great, to make remote altars more accesible. But this just seems rushed and uncreative. Edit: about the runespan being the worst update ever: everyone is allowed to have an opinion about this. That's not me being hyperbolic, that's me and you having a different opinion.
  2. This update might be nice for people who like to afktrain skills, but i despise this update. Runespan in a nutshell: 1: go to an empty world 2: find a spot with the highest level creature you can leech from 3: click on the creature 4: wait till he's dead 5: wait for the creature to respawn. There you go, repeat steps 3-5 a lot of times and you just got 99 rc. Fully afk-able and better xp than crafting bloods. They just made runecrafting like woodcutting and fishing, afk and level up. And you are not even crafting runes. While the skill is called runecrafting. Runecrafting used to be one of the hardest skills to level up, only the most dedicated people would eventually reach 99 and get that highly sought-after cape. That all has changed now. Why they made this update is beyond me. The lack of creativity in this runespan is painful to watch. This, in my opinion, is the worst update ever in runescape, including the removal of free trade and the squeal. I am extremely disappointed. Jagex, you just kicked runecrafting as a skill and everyone who liked to train it in the balls. I'm going back to crafting bloods with my lovely teletabs and morytania legs. Now, that is actually crafting runes.
  3. I want to do the task where you need the ivandis flail with 200 corpses burned. My question is: can i kill the vyrewatch with a blisterwood polearm, burn the corpses and do the task with the flail? Or do you need to kill the vyrewatch with the flail to get it boosted?
  4. Hey all, so just started playing rs after not playing for 2 years and i noticed every slayer/gwd item is worth way less than 2 years ago. I got hacked aswell so i'm pretty much broke. What is a good way to make money for me? I still got void, ccbow, rapier, the rest is junk. Stats in the siggy. Thanks!
  5. Thanks all, followed the link but the solution offered didn't work for me. I guess all that's left is hoping that jagex will fix this soon...
  6. So, after not playing for more than a year i decided to try rs again, but the first thing i noticed is the huge lagg. At resizable/med graphic settings my whole screen laggs. I can't play rs this way. And I'm quite sure i wasn't having this problem 1 year ago, when i played rs frequently. Is there anyone else having this problem? or is it just me? I'm playing on a 1 year old laptop with a good graphical card btw. Is there any way to solve this? Cuz if not, I'll be moving to another game quickly and i don't want that, i want to play rs again :shades: Thanks!
  7. 1: Arma helm is way better than verac helm in trios. (full void+acp+deflector is better than full arma though, if you have it use it) 2: Normal prayers, if someone in you rteam uses leech defence. 3: Eee and unicorn will keep you alive in trios. Bring a few emergency brews though. 4: Yak is indeed overkill, use a stallion. 5: You won't be brewing very often so bring 3 extreme ranges and grenwall spikes. 6: My invent on arma trios: -5 brews -8 super prayers -2 super restores -3 extreme ranges -100 grenwall spikes -1k diamond bolts, broad bolds equipped for kc -house teletab -3 stallion pouches -1k healing aura scrolls -Fury (unholy symbol equipped) -Eee -Mithril grapple I find this to be a very good invent, i can last with this untill all my unicorns are dead. Hope i helped. Edit: I have always used an accumulator at arma since kree moves away if you stand under him, and if that happens all your bolts will be spread out across the room.
  8. I maged a few abberant spectre tasks when i went for 99 mage and fire surge is quite accurate on them. As said above, it takes roughly 5-6 casts to kill one. They have more mage defence than abby demons, but they are still a good task to mage.
  9. And here's the pic of the 3rd dungeoneering kiteshield: I also wonder whether the damage reducing effect only activates with 200+ hits. I'm going to arma to test it out.
  10. +4 is quite common, and with a wily cat (100% catch rate) it shouldn't take more than 20 mins to collect enough spices for your boost.
  11. Have you ever considered testing full void+deflector+acp?
  12. Ok thanks, i'll try making wine. Any ideas on how to train fishing?
  13. Thanks, but are you sure yew longs are the best, and not some kind of arrow?
  14. Hey, i need 82 fletching, 71 fishing, 75 cooking and 75 firemaking to fully complete seers diary. Firemaking is pretty straightforward (yew logs), but i dont know how to train the rest. Fletching: i'm lvl 70 and i need 82. What's the fastest way for me to get 82? I haven't unlocked broad arrows and i don't care about money. Fishing: i'm lvl 64 and i need 71. Again, what's the fastest way for me to get 71? I have unlocked monkfish and shilo village fishing, but i don't care about profits, i just want the fastest xp. Cooking: i'm lvl 66 and i need 75. What food should i be cooking for the best xp? Again, money is not important. I have the family crest cooking gauntlets. Thanks in advance!
