how do i make a clear background on pictures?

You need to make it transparent in a program like photoshop.

any other way? and is that free?

GIMP is a free alternative and its about as easy to do.

ok cheers i got it, now i can't find which makes background inviisble, do yo uknow wher eit is?

Layers->Transparency->Add alpha layer

 

Select the area you want to go invisible then hit delete.
