RAM again

Got the new RAM today. Put it in and again there is a BSOD. I am wondering if it is the ram or the mother board somehow. It will start for like 30 seconds and then give the BSOD.

I managed to get the error message thing, here it is.

Local ID: 1033

BCCode: 50

BCP1: fffff87f89f60003

BCP2: 0000000000000001

BCP3: fffff800020a67c7

BCP4: 0000000000000005

OS Version: 6_0_6001

Service Pack : 1_0

Any ideas?

Please?

(If you need more info, ill get it)

Edit: It doesnt give me enough time to run a memtest.

I will try and put new ram into it to see if that works.

Edit (Again): I put in another computers RAM and it ran fine. Then I put my RAM into that other computer and the other computer had no errors. I am currently running a mem test with 1 of my RAM and the other RAM in my computer.

A little confusing.

If you have ideas, please post. Also when I started it up with the different RAMS it said something like "can not come out of hibernation" whatever was not saved will be lost or something like that. That means what? :?

If the RAM is working fine in another computer, you probably got the wrong RAM for that specific computer (compatibility isn't only determined by the number of pins and the fact that the RAM fits into the slots: there should be a number preceded by the letters "PC" on the RAM; make sure this matches what your computer can handle (check your owner's manual)).

As for the hibernation thing, that's because, when you put a computer into hidernation, it stores information on what you were doing on the RAM. When you switched the RAM, the new RAM didn't contain this information and the information is, therefore, lost.

I hope that helps. Most of my experience with RAM is with older (3+ years; some probably going as far back as 2000 if not all the way back to the late '90's 8-) ) computers and is, as with anything over a day or two old in computers, likely to be outdated.

Not the wrong RAM.

I have same RAM and motherboard on both my (well mine and my brothers) computers. Only screwed up on the second one.

It seems to be working fine now with 1 of new RAM stick and 1 different RAM stick. No errors in memtest.

Im so confused.

I figured you'd say something like that and I'm as clueless as you are. I've never had anything like that happen and I've played with RAM so much over the past few years (mostly in trying to fit as much of it in one computer as I could).

If you're wondering, my grandparents let me have everything computer-related that would otherwise be thrown out by their company. I currently have 8 of their old computers in my room and parts (cd/flappy/hard drives, power supplies, etc.) from at least 6 more. <3: :ugeek: \'

Well I think everything is okay. For now.

I still want to know what happened (or will still happen)
