Step 1: Create a New Document Step 2: Press D on the keyboard and then go to filter-render-clouds and press Control+F a couple of times until u get what u like. Step 3: Get Some Grunge Brushes At http://www.deviantart.com/ and create about 4- 20 layers for the first layer brush it in black and brush the rest of the layers white. Step 4: click on the background layer and then press control+b on the keyboard play with the Colour Balence until u like it if u dont like the white patches u can either brush over them with colour or use colour balence(control+B) on the layers of brushing. Step 5(optional): i filled the sig with a grid: and then add some text cut out parts of the grid if u dont know how to do it just use the lasso tool heres how my sig looked liked: Step 6: Right Click The Text Layer and go to blending options and play with that. NuZzA
great, even though i can already make grunge sigs... but anyway, it'd be good for the people who like to give things a try  also just a tip, with your text, when your making sigs, set the top bar ro something other then normal, it looks way to pixel like and i think it spoils the sig. Quer_Skulll
i regret saying i actually liked what that sig was turning out like.. but then you had to go and add that font and those hidous squares. im not quite sure if this is the best of techniques.. i only did grunge once .. but i never used that cloud filter.. it only spoiles it IMO. J272
For some styles, Its impossible not to use brushes, however sad that may be, but all that he did (by his own attestation) was use brushes to create the circular effect [Though there are other ways to do the exact same thing].....
