Tormented Demons! Maybe...?

Right. So when I get members back in a few weeks I want to try something new. I was told that TDs were fun and profitable. So I have a few questions before I send myself to that god forsaken temple again.

 

 

 

1. What IS the profit/hour (average of course) of TDs? I understand this depends on my inventory, stats, and equipment. Let's say I used the best equipment for BoB with 99 strength, 95 attack, 90 defense, 82 magic, 80 ranged, 71 prayer, and 95 hitpoints. I also understand the entire "the drops are random" issue. That's why I'm asking for an approximate.

 

 

 

2. What is the net worth of the non-rare drops you usually get in an average trip?

 

3. What is the drop rate of the dragon pieces/d claws?

 

 

 

4. How long does 1 trip last?

 

 

 

5. I will solo. I really don't like having to go with a team, even if it is duo. I know it's more efficient, but it's too much effort to try and find someone, etc. So what is the best equipment/invent I would take if I was going to use a BoB (War Tortoise at best).

 

 

 

6. Does a titan heal you enough to compensate for a unicorn? (95 hp atm)

 

 

 

7. Are there any stats that I should raise higher? I have plenty of money and my range may be a bit low. If that's the case I AM willing to chinchompa for a few levels, if not to 99, as long as the rewards of TDs are good enough.

If you know what youa re doing, a titan will heal plenty enough. Use the d hally method described in AOW. That is THE BEST way to solo. As long as you don't mess up, you could stay indefinately on just excalibur specs and prayer pot drops(p pots aren't that common, but you could last if you flashed which you shouldn't do, it's just a possibility to stress my point).

 

 

 

I don't remember what bolts were suggested, but use broads. If diamonds are suggested, they only max like 1 or 2 more than broads and t demons don't have much defense, so the spec is pretty much useless(imo).

 

 

 

I personally like to take a tbird with 10 sharks in it along with 5 run scrolls so that I can run all the way to the demons, and I have some food for the initial luring and finding the right demon(the one that spawns right in front of the safe spot). That's when you take the most damage in the trip.

 

 

 

About drops, I take alching runes because they drop an [wagon] load of random rune crap like maces, swords, etc and I don't like just dropping them. They also drop 3 charms at a time(lots of blues) and that is my main reason for going as I have pathetically horrible luck. I've got around 600 kills under my belt with just a lump to show for it, but I've heard the claw rate to be 1/200.

 

 

 

EDIT: Statwise you're good, but higher range/attack would make kills faster obvioosly, bu it is not necessary. Like I said, they have relatively weak defense like all other demons.

1. To be honest, you will only make a profit if you get a drop. A lot of the drops will pay for a lot of the supplies, but won't be close to breaking even.

 

2. Max 100-200k.

 

3. Shard/piece/lump: Around 1:100, claws: 1:150 (what I heard)

 

4. Depends on familiar, but with uni I usually last 1,5 uni.

 

5. Honestly, I don't know the best inventory, as I never thought a Bob was efficient. (got like 4-5 kills with a tort filled with sharks)

 

6. As Wioneo said, if you know what you're doing yes. But if you're new to it, you might wanna bring extra brews/sharks.

 

7. 90 ranged wouldn't hurt ;)

Thanks. Unicorn if definitely worth it then? I just don't want to get that summoning level just yet, since if I do I'll force myself to burst, and then I'll just spend too much.

 

 

 

Which method is best btw? What I mean is Godsword/Hally/Whip/etc.

Unicorn is like made for TD's :thumbsup:

 

 

 

As for method, I prefer Hally/rune crossbow (MSB+rune arrows or Karils crossbow is better) using the south-west spot. (The one that says optional)

TD's drop alot of blue charms too :D

 

 

 

i used to kill them in the south-west spot, its the best imo.

 

 

 

Tormented Demons are a pain to kill.. alot of hassle with changing weapons and prayer... you tried to solo sara boss?? its more straighforward and a hilt is more worth ^^

You don't *need* 88 for t demons. As a matter of fact I always just leave when my pony dies and fire titans(I always sued those) last 8 minutes longer and that's enough time for 1 or maybe 2 more kills. You'll notice that you spend a lot of time with the spec bar full, but then a slip up could make you use all 3 specs in one go. The excali really makes a huge difference, and while your goodon HP just use d hally specs.

 

 

 

DO NOT use a godsword. I was struggling to get 7 kills while using all of my sharks and sgs specs before I tried hallying. As long as you don't wait too long to switch prayer after they attack you should easily be able to get over 10 kills per trip.

 

 

 

Make sure that you get the right demon as soon as possible, though. Still haven't devised a way to figure out which is which other than killing them and seeing where they pop up...

Wait I'm confused.

 

 

 

They change attack styles right when they change prayers right? So when they pop on protect from range, they would change to say, the melee attack. Would they then keep using the melee attack without variation until they switch prayers? Or do they change up their attacks at their discretion?

Some tiems they change at the same time, but it's actually pretty rare and only coincidental I'd assume. Them changing prayer is linked to you doing damage. I think the limit before they change is like 20-30 damage, but you always get at least 2 chances to hit, and if they take any damage(includin a stupid terrorbird pecking), and then you repeatedly hit 0s they will change after a while.

 

 

 

So if you notice you're missing a lot while you're trying to kill their shield and you have an attacking familiar out(aka titan) it would help slightly to call it to stop it from attackign and doing any damage.
