Your Ticking Time Bomb Scenario

Torture advocates and evangelical Christians! Come one, come all, to be the first to torture Scott Roeder, a real domestic terrorist. He has committed a terrorist action of his own, and refuses to tell us where his friends are and what they're up to.

Surely, in order to prevent ANOTHER attack, we need to water-board and indefinitely detain all pro-lifers to keep our country safe.

We know an attack on our soil is imminent. He's promised this. He has committed an act already; he's not f*cking around.

The only credible way to get information from him is to water board him; and then we need to round up all pro-lifers who protest abortion clinics, indefinitely detain them, and then we need to water board them for information.

Why? Because they have sworn allegiance to the pro-life movement, which has a history of terrorism. Sure, not all of them committed terrorist acts, but they MIGHT commit them in the future.

It's the only way to keep our country safe. That's the President's first duty, he said so himself.

So when do we get to start torturing this guy:

The man charged with murdering a high-profile abortion doctor claimed from his jail cell Sunday that similar violence was planned around the nation for as long as the procedure remained legal, a threat that comes days after a federal investigation launched into his possible accomplices.

A Justice Department spokesman said the threat was being taken seriously and additional protection had been ordered for abortion clinics last week. But a leader of the anti-abortion movement derided the accused shooter as a fruit and a lunatic.

Scott Roeder called The Associated Press from the Sedgwick County jail, where hes being held on charges of first-degree murder and aggravated assault in the shooting of Dr. George Tiller one week ago.

I know there are many other similar events planned around the country as long as abortion remains legal, Roeder said. When asked by the AP what he meant and if he was referring to another shooting, he refused to elaborate further.

Since there is no doubt that we have a history of anti-abortion domestic terrorism, and since we know that evangelicals already support torture for everyone, when do we get to start waterboarding this guy? Does he have any children whose testicles can be crushed? Will we keep him up for weeks on end in stress positions in extremely cold rooms to get him to break? Beat him? All the right made a very good show of how shocked and appalled they were when this man killed Dr. Tiller, so surely they will not object. So when do we get to start torturing this guy?

And of course, the answer should be NEVER. Torture is wrong. Torture is immoral. Torture is evil. Torture is illegal. Torture does more violence to our values than it does to the individual being tortured. Torture is unreliable. Torture is counter-productive- everything someone says after being tortured should be treated as suspect.

Just do your job and investigate. No need to become as bad as the criminal.

Why do people compare facetiousness with trolling on this forum? It's really the only forum that cannot recognize the difference.

Because you are clearly trying to bait people into flaming you betting that you will be more studied then they are so you can try to justify your ego by winning a debate on the internet perchance?

Orthodoxy is unconciousness

the only ones who should kill are those who are prepared to be killed.

I'm not trying to bait anyone into flaming me; I'm making a point against torture. It's called playful humor, or, being facetious; sarcasm?

It's a form of argument.
