  2. Accidentally liked your post, sry, on phone.
  3. I was wondering about that. I installed a Kenworth mod and the thing is almost impossible to maneuver on European roadways.
  4. It gets a lot of undeserved hate. Really, the only thing wrong with it is the price.
  5. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest - Don't know why I put it off for so long, it's pretty good. Edit: Just saw The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) - Christ, I can smell the movie.
  6. Crash Bandicoot is awesome. Hard, but awesome. I kind of want a reboot, but I know how that always goes.
  7. 102 Dalmations I'm serious. It had a lot of large, open-ended levels with lots of secret areas, collectibles, and unlockables.
  8. Unless you don't have a computer that can run it, which I didn't in 2011. On topic, I can't believe Skyrim is as old as it is. It's something I have anchored in my mind as something that just came out.

  11. Similarly, I dislike being completely discredited because I happen to care about the kind of people that really only exist as a punchline. In the interest of not causing a shitstorm, can I concede that both sides need better people? :-P Yeah your going to get terrible people in any group. As far as SJWs go. I bet you find the "white privilege" punchline that flys around facebook a bit patronizing and beside the point. And largely it is, it comes off as a poo ball that gets thrown at people who really don't have much influence in the political or corporate world, ie: people youre friends with on facebook. You get really bad loaded terms because all this is grass roots and it is how people feel about the situation. This privilege thing is pretty much the problem I have with them. As for the rest of the causes, I pretty much tried to steer clear of politics and other such debates simply because I see the whole thing as unnecessary stress that's going to resolve itself one way or the other without my input anyway. The place where I have a personal problem with SJWs is pretty much where Ring World said: how being a white male is pretty much their equivalent of original sin. Another problem is how calling them out on it generally leads to the accusation that I hate them because I don't care about equality, when really it's because I don't like being called guilty of something I never did. In my day to day life, I don't treat people better or worse depending on race or sex or whatever. As far as I'm concerned, as long as that's true, I am not part of the problem, and I'd appreciate people not saying I am.
  12. SJWs. I don't like being called the enemy or being expected to apologize for something I didn't do.
  13. I agree. A military is at best a necessary evil, and in most historical cases, not even that.

Nope. The other guy's phone was dead, and I'm a grandpa with a flip-phone that doesn't light crap. Couldn't call the other guys back because the whole area has no reception. Actually, the whole campus seems to screw with electronics in general. Perfect setup for a horror movie, now that I think about it.

Explored an abandoned hospital yesterday. It was really cool, but we kind of had a problem at the end. See, to get in, we had to climb a steep metal staircase into this cement ditch thing that led under the building, climb into a hole in the sub-basement, and then find our way through both levels of basements to the first floor. At one point two of us left, leaving me with one other person. We wanted to see another part of the building, but found that it was bolted off. We were going to re-join the others, got to the stairs to the first basement and realized they had all our lights. Question: How do you descend through two levels of basements with confusing corridors and steep staircases in the pitch darkness? Answer: Very, very carefully.
  16. Sale loot: 911: First Responders - It's good, but I have some major complaints about it. For one, the tutorial is seriously lacking. This turned out to be kind of a complex game, and almost none of it is explained in-game. Also, the pathfinding can be horrendous at times. Aliens Vs. Predator (2010) - It's decent, though a little repetitive. Not sure if it's good enough to justify the 15GB it takes up. Car Mechanic Simulator 2014 - Surprisingly addicting puzzle game. Bought this as part of my attempt to throw some money at games I've pirated, I feel like it gives my pro-piracy arguments some credibility. Contagion - Pretty fun, though there's a lack of maps for some game modes. Haven't played with more than one other person yet, but it seems much better than when I watched Markiplier play it. F.E.A.R. - The most outstanding AI I've ever seen in a video game, and it's almost a decade old. Why has no other game replicated this? It's kind of weak as a horror game, but an incredible shooter. I also like the lighting and particle effects during gunfights. Flatout 2 - Figured it was worth the 2 bucks after seeing X-play rave over it when it came out. I've only played a little so far, and it seems pretty decent, despite being an obvious console port. All in all, not bad for less than $20.
  17. *8-hour sigh* Took it to a place to have the job done, they basically told me they know nothing about computers but they totally have a guy that does if I come in Friday. Turns out their expert's knowledge ends with HDD and RAM. Ended up putting in the processor myself, but the whole motherboard has to come out before I can put the heatsink in. *thousand-year sigh* Edit: Ended up doing the whole damn thing myself. The cooler isn't screwed in correctly AT ALL, but it's not falling out, so as far as I'm concerned it's fine. Now the HDD is giving me troubles as well, but I'll deal with it later. It's enough for me that it boots at all.
  18. Ah, that helps to know. And it was an AMD. I take it they have a reputation for this kind of thing?
  19. Well, this has been an ordeal. -CPU repeatedly experiences heat issues and going into thermal shutdown, becoming more and more frequent. I find out that it's overclocked (bought this PC second-hand), and the stock cooler can't handle it. -Attempt to install cooling tower, and when removing the heatsink, the CPU comes out with it, bending some pins in the process. -Rage and watch a tutorial, realizing that I would have had to take out the entire motherboard anyway. -Attempt to have a PC in the meantime by putting the HDD into an older desktop. While taking it out, one of the brackets snaps. -Once screwed into the new PC, something is wrong, windows "attempts repairs", nothing comes of it. So the HDD might be screwed. -Go for a hard shutdown... and the power button pushes into the case. -End up hooking my brother's old laptop up to my monitor and keyboard. Functionally similar, though gaming isn't happening. And it's Windows 8. Finally said screw it. I've ordered a new processor, and I'm taking it, the new cooler, and the PC to a computer shop and saying "Here's some cash, you do it."
  20. I recently discovered that removing thermal paste from a heatsink is, like, reaaally satisfying.
  21. Gave it another try recently and I'm really annoyed with it. In a head to head fight, I almost always hit the other guy first and the most times, yet most of the time I'm the one that dies.
  22. Not a tech support problem, all printers suck in all ways. I think it's the law or something.
