*sigh* another fight caves topic

Ok I gave it a go last night and was surprised I managed to get to Jad.

I got extremely lucky/unlucky depending on you take it.

At around the 53 wave I was down to 2 doses of brew (these got used up by the first 90-180-360 wave), I managed to get to Jad with with 21hp surviving from rapid restore and Redemption thanks to the 45s. All down to me not taking the 6 sara brews as reccommended (for some reason I only brought 4).

My questions are;

1. I had more super restores then I was expecting to have left (6 full pots and a 3 dose) so replacing all but 3/4 of the pots with prayer potions (with holy wrench) wouldn't hurt would it?

2. Void might sound dumb, but wouldn't using it speed up the kills reducing the damage (from the 90's) and reduce prayer usage?

I'm sure there's a good reason not to (I'm guessing the lower prayer and range defense), but I can't see a single mention of it in any guide.

3. His is the setup I used last night

Neitz

Fury

Black dhide body

Veracs Skirt

Snake skin boots

Blessed Spirit Shield

Rune C'bow

Ava's accumulator

Broad bolts (with diamond (e) in my inv for Jad)

With a 300k budget any improvements?

4. Guthans

I have the guthans set in my bank is it worth the hassle?

Any other recommendations or suggestions?

PS. I've read both the prayer switching and the cave fights guides about 3 times already, as well as watching a few vids.

Void is good if you are experienced. I have done caves in void with a prayer book and no guthans but it all comes down to experience.

I would suggest using diamond bolts(e) for the whole caves, you will get much faster kills and with accumulator it should not end up costing more than 350k worth on bolts if you are 70+ Ranged.

Bring Guthans if you are taking damage in the caves. It is very useful and will free up room from brews which you can use for range pots. If you bring 2-3 range pots you can start potting when the 360's start and stay 5+ Ranged levels up until Jad which will speed things up meaning less bolts used and less damage taken.

Same goes for restores, switch some restores from either brews or ranged pots or even a tuna potato incase of emergency.
