You still get the same amount of exp out of the brawlers. And you're getting them twice as fast. Which means less times in the wildy, which means less chances to get killed. If anything, SC tools and Brawlers are the best way to use the brawlers. Things like the hammers and smithing brawlers are great exp when used at the same time.
