June 27, 200917 yr This is really weird, today i decided to delete some game installation program, which was sitting there for over a year already, and those stuff together were around 2GB ish, however when i deleted all of them, i did not see a change in disk space at all! It was 86.1GB free before i deleted it, and it just went to 86.2GB....100MB improvement when i deleted over 2GB of stuff? Yes i have emptied the recycle bin etc, is there any idea where the space went?? It's not a disk i got my OS installed on, it's used for file storage only, so i don't think any system related stuff can be the answer...any ideas? Running XP and Vista dual boot btw, however i see the same disk space in both of them. Quit runescape on Jan 6th of 2008, at level of 115 with around 150M worth of item in bank...however stats still remainsWorld 59, the world i loved~ Now 95% dedicated to playing Microsoft flight simulator http://www.youtube.com/user/im1knightmy youtube channel with many FSX videos i made. please leave a comment if you will
June 28, 200917 yr Unless you securely delete your trash, whatever you delete isn't really gone. Rather, it waits until be written over by other data. Whereas securely deleting it rewrites the data right there and then with a bunch of ones and zeros. I don't recall if Windows still says this data is being used or not should you simply delete it. Perhaps someone could clarify.
