Peronix
I'm hoping someone can help me with this, I really need my PC to work for a class I'm taking atm. Anyway, when I started up my computer this morning I got an error saying "missing operating system". After a LOT of googling, I found that sometimes it has issues with USB thumb drives, so I unplugged it. So now, instead of attempting to boot from my thumb drive, it tries to boot from some network thing, resulting in some weird PXE error. So I go into the BIOS and disable the PXE boot agent. Now I just get an error saying "reboot and select proper boot device"; which would appear after the boot agent failed anyway. Any of the above under their own circumstances would happen regardless of weather I selected my HD from the boot menu. It doesn't even give me an error message to the effect that it cannot boot from the HD, it just goes ahead and tries to boot from something else. If anyone has any experience with this and could help, I'd appreciate it. This is really puzzling. I'm so hoping my HD didn't die...
sloter
Go into your boot meni and boot from the hard disk the operating system is on. You could also set the order for your boot devices Just have it set to your disc drives then your hard drive. what operating are you running?
