July 3, 200917 yr Did you forget about the fury? Yes, I did, oops. +70 (Mace and Defender w/ Zerker) against +75 (ZS w/ fury). So it's a 5 difference in attack. I never said it would be better, but it's a great alternative, esp. if you're after defense xp. It DEFINITELY beats out the D Mace, Barrows, Ancient Staff, etc., and for me it beats the GS, although that may vary. ~It's Super Effective! July 3, 200917 yr Author Well did some testing, here are the results. Each test was only 1 hour but that's plenty to get the gist of xp/h. Dragon Mace: 41k xp/h | 56 crims per hour | 736 xp/crim Ancient Staff: 45k xp/h | 66 crims per hour | 681 xp/crim Obsidian Mace: 64k xp/h | 96 crims per hour | 666 xp/crim The crimson rate takes a lot more data to calculate accurately, but using the average xp/crim rate... (736+681+666)/3=694.3 average xp/crim = 92 crims per hour for the obby mace. The loss of magic defense is really noticeable, I'm going to have to get an EE. I'm pretty satisfied with these results, gonna go with this setup. Gonna add in superhuman strength though for a little boost in experience rates.
July 3, 200917 yr Yes, the two biggest problems are loss of attack bonus and loss of magic defense. However, with a bunyip + excalibur/sgs, it shouldn't be too big of a problem. ~It's Super Effective!
