Evil Tree: new/missing clues, need proofshots!

I notice that is not on the list. The location of the tree was inside McGruber's Woods.

This is the first time I've had this particular statement, so that is the only location I know of so far.

Just thought it should be added, as it is different than other messages for Seers village. \'

Also, a suggestion:

Selling Kindling for 25g is fine, but a better option is to save the kindling for the next tree. This is helpful especially in the case of higher level trees where you want to avoid cutting the roots if you can, because of better xp and also to try and get 100% as fast as possible due to the massive amounts of players (usually from clans....) that swarm the higher level trees.

[pokemama edit: yikes on clue, lol. we will need to watch for other locations that fall under this clue. I wonder if it replaces a different one (like "north of Ardy" and "close to Legends" which were both pretty silly for mcgrubor's. Hi, I just did an evil tree that said "south of a gnome settlement" and it wasn't in the gnome stonghold north of the dungeon and wasnt south of the strongholg neither, it was west of Yanille. You might want to update your evil tree location table.

Thanks,

Hi katyced, welcome to Tip.It!

This forum is indeed the right place to post your correction. I've merged it with a previous topic on Evil Trees about a new hint.

It sounds like your clue (probably "To the South of a Gnome Settlement") meant south of the Tree Gnome Village, and you say it ended up being the site west of Yanille? http://www.tip.it/runescape/img2/eviltr ... lewest.png

We need some other people to confirm these, hopefully with a screenshot of the clue (any format is fine) to make sure. Thanks for submitting!

it's a lot easier to get over yourself when you look at intelligence the same way you look at beauty, or height, or eye color: being smart is easy, but being good is hard ... being smart is handed to you, being good is handed to *nobody*.

Also evil-tree related, but not to do with locations:

You can use a machete to cut the roots - and these are (in general) more effective. If you take both a machete and an axe in your inventory, the game will make you use the better one, regardless of what you have equipped. For me, a red topaz machete is better for cutting roots than my rune hatchet, but the hatchet is better for cutting the main tree.

Thank you I added this to the guide and credited you (also in the process I was able to find another place where that hint leads you to.)

EDIT: I also added the fact that you can use a machete to cut the roots as an option and that you can keep the roots and burn them at the next evil tree you meet.
