in your ge guide, you state (at the end, under "useful information"):

 

 

 

* Trades will stay on the grand exchange for up to seven days.

 

 

 

this implies that after 7 days, the trade will either be removed, cancelled, or simply wont fullfill -- but this isnt true

 

 

 

i currently have an large number of cheap flatpacks on the ge from my last construction project, and they have been on the ge unchanged for several months, and every couple days, a few sell -- there is quite clearly no limit to the length of time a trade can remain 'active' on the ge

 

 

 

i realize that this is not something i can 'prove', so all i can do is suggest you try it yourself
