  1. actually, i remember (dont know if its the same time your talking about) a few years ago the game crashed -- and so did the site, and the forums (a post from andrew himself was posted here on rune tips main page) -- and, iirc, they were down for nearly 2 full days
  2. in the beginners guide, under the section: Control Panel at the image at the top, the shortcut keys are correct, but under each subsection, it still lists the old shortcut keys (F-1 for combat menu, F4 for inventory, etc...) also, i first noted that the section for the diaries needs to be updated, but then i noticed that so does all the images, since they all show the "objectives" tab... unfortunately, as i run in re-size able or full-screen, i cannot provide updated images (since all your existing images are from fixed-mode) i understand this is not a section regular users, or staff visit often, or would think to update, so i would like to be sure you are aware of these outdated pages
  3. when in the falador diary, (does not happen in any other diary) the elite task (but not any of the others) the show/hide buttons dont work clicking the show button, instead of showing completed objectives, it jumps up to a point between the easy and medium diaries clicking the hide button, shouldnt do anything since the show button doesnt work, instead jumps down to somewhere in the rewards section
  4. the real problem is that this is actually 2 very different questions, so i cant vote my vote is: price manipulation clans should certainly be disallowed, but merchanting has absolutely nothing to do with price manipulation, and is quite common in all online games (most dont have the weird pricing rules that RSs GE has) and should, of course, be allowed
  5. just thought you might like to know... if you use this address: http://www.tip.it/runescape/?max_hit_calc (which is the address google still points you to, and what ff users get when they type "rune tips max hit" into the address bar...) you get the un-updated calculator... why these to addresses link to two different calculators, idk... but since google is linking to this address, you might want to look at that
  6. well, they do consider context, but the truth is, if someone makes a statement like that, and actually does it, jagex is legally guilty of murder (well, technically 'wrongful death'), and can be charged, fined, sued and much more (if a report was made, and ignored, the person who chose to ignore it can, in some cases, be arrested and imprisoned) -- at least in the US this is the case, and these types of rules are usually much more in UK where they are located... somebody mentioned that facebook doesnt do this... but the truth is, they do (and are required by law to do so), and they have been (many times) sued and fined for not reporting or taking too long to report it
  7. QUEST Keys: Lighthouse key -- The key to the front door of the lighthouse. (Horror from the Deap) Display cabinet key -- The museum curator's key. (The Golem) Chest key -- This fits a chest. (Digsite) Key (Biohazard) -- Opens things. (Biohazard) Key (witches shed) -- A key to the Witch's shed. (Witch's House) Door key (witch's house) -- A key to the Witch's house's front door. (Witch's house) A small key -- Quite a small key. (Plague City) A key -- This will unlock something. (Waterfall Quest) these keys wern't on your search results (either list, i looked at both) but are in the item database, with outdated examine: bone key -- A key fashioned from a shard of bone. (Shilo Village) bone key -- A key dropped by necrovarus. (Ghosts Ahoy) this key has changed names from what it is in the item database: currently listed as: key -smelly- current name in game: grimy key examine: A slightly smelly key. (Ernest the Chicken) [Crew edit: Thank you so much for the submission. You have been given credit for the keys ]
  8. in your ge guide, you state (at the end, under "useful information"): * Trades will stay on the grand exchange for up to seven days. this implies that after 7 days, the trade will either be removed, cancelled, or simply wont fullfill -- but this isnt true i currently have an large number of cheap flatpacks on the ge from my last construction project, and they have been on the ge unchanged for several months, and every couple days, a few sell -- there is quite clearly no limit to the length of time a trade can remain 'active' on the ge i realize that this is not something i can 'prove', so all i can do is suggest you try it yourself
  9. i havent failed yet either... (94 agility) though i have only done 177 laps so far... -- although weight probably makes a difference also (i generally run about -7kg)
  10. actually, the op simply copied his information from the kb... (which, of course, they have asked us not to do, since they can get that information themselves...) i know that because its wrong... the rskb says that the total lap is 745 -- its not, in-game its only 725 the rskb says the last step (over the fence and down the pipe) is 650xp but in-game its only 630...
  11. i too was looking for an 'other' option (which is why i havent voted yet... and may not vote at all this time, because none of those options apply to me) i have been using w70 almost exclusively since long before there was any such thing as 'themed worlds'...(though i did have 2 other homeworlds before 70--19 and 22)
  12. well, in that case i apologies for the misunderstanding
  13. ... this is just stupid... did you even read the thread before posting in it?? if you look, the very first post already contains the exact pic you just asked for... and no, jagex didnt change it, since my "oak" wooden telescope has always given the same (24min) window since the shooting stars were first added to the game to the other poster: wooden telescope is the oak telescope -- there is no telescope called 'oak telescope' but the wooden one is made of oak, and therefore is the 'oak' telescope referred to by the guide
  14. cost per XP is not greater if you get your own... as i mentioned, it is longer or more expensive, but definitely worth the extra considering you get more per charm as i mentioned a year ago, when i was helping with the updates to that guide after the rebalancing, you may want to leave the recommendation to crabs, but certainly need to clarify that it is neither the highest gold till bull ant, nor is it the most efficient use of gold charms at the lower levels (even if it is the most efficient use of money -- though it isnt even that if you get your own proboscis) for some of us, gold charms are much much harder to get then either the proboscis or the money to buy them, further, the fact that they are stackable means using them is also much faster since (if you scroll them) you can do thousands in a single bank trip
  15. from summoning guide, beginner's walkthrough, right below the table: gold charms do "come into use again" before level 40, in fact they are used for the very next pouch! (see your own pouches table below) furthermore: the mosquito pouches (while the Proboscis are more expensive if you buy them, and take longer if you farm them) give more than 2x the xp-per-charm (46.5 instead of 21.6) and only require 1 single charm! -- which makes them far more 'efficient' for use of gold charms as a beginner... [edit] also: since proboscis are stackable, it means you dont have to make any bank trips while using them! [/edit in an unrelated note]http://www.runescape.com/kbase/viewarticle.ws?article_id=2379[/url]) indicates that the amount of XP for each type of shade also varies based on what type of pyre log was used -- i havent had a chance to test this in-game myself however
  16. you have in both the construction table and the shooting star guide, mentioned that both the oak and teak telescope give a 9 minute window for the time of the landing for the next star: from "shooting star" guide, "locating stars" section, first paragraph: but this is incorrect: my oak telescope gives a 24 minute window (not a 9 minute window)
  17. rune tips own diary page lists it correctly, its only the note at the bottom of the farming guide that is wrong
  18. the very last tip in the farming guide is incorrect: this is a level 2 bonus, not a level 3 bonus, and thus only requires Falador Shield 2
  19. there is also one in varrock (near the east bank) -- if i had to guess, i would say that there is one in every one of the 12 cities where the ticket master travels between (according to the update notice, there are 12 cities where the circus can be) i do have a pic, but nowhere to host it, and i dont see an attachment option here... ill see if i can get my brother to put it up later
  20. the 10-12 years old system i played on until i got my new system in january would play under these requirements, (basically, if you can play on the current 'high-quality' mode, then your system meets these minimum requirements...) all system less than 8 years old do meet these sytem requirements and i expect most system older than that do as well... i do have a working 386 (about 20 years old...) and that wont run it... but most systems 10-12 years old shouldnt have any problems running on it i suspect those who think there system doesnt meet the requirements dont actually understand the requirements...
  21. yes, there is a body where you get the bones... unfortunately, i already did the quest on my only member account, so i cant screenshot it... Pikkupstix doesnt tell you where to find him, but he does tell you that he was sent to get the bones, and never returned, when you search the body, dialog tells you that this is the assistant which never returned, and that he had already gotten all that was required (it also tells you that he is carrying some other things, including strength pots, and a couple other things, but it only gives you the wolf bones) searching the body after completing the quest, only tells you 'this guys family probably misses him' or something similar
  22. i wish they didnt group more items with more bank space -- i would really like to see if im the only one who joined only for more bank space -- i do skills (never been into combat much), and i was tired of having to dump all my tools every time i switched skills
  23. quest calculator I was looking at the quest calculator for the first time (and trying to enter the quests i had completed), and was surprised to discover I couldn't do Creature of Fenkenstrain yet! this was very surprising, since i really enjoy training in the werewolf course! the quest calculator lists Ghosts Ahoy as a required quest for Creature of Fenkenstrain, it is not (though your quest guide does list it as recommended)
  24. i am currently: (combat skills in italics) 1 agility -- 80 2 crafting -- 79 3 mining -- 77 4 woodcutting -- 73 5 firemaking -- 72 6 cooking -- 68 7 fishing -- 67 8 defence -- 65 9 smithing -- 63 10 thieving -- 62 11 fletching -- 61 12 runecrafting -- 61 13 hitpoints -- 60 14 magic -- 60 15 prayer -- 57 16 attack -- 55 17 farming -- 52 18 ranged -- 52 19 strength -- 45 20 herblore -- 43 21 slayer -- 30 22 construction -- 10 23 hunter -- 9 -------------------------------------------- total level: 1303 (12,441,501) combat level: 70 1303/70 == ~18.61 so, i guess thats pretty good...
