i got the cordinates for inside the duel arena, do i just have to keep dueling someone till i get lucky and get that section or is there another way to get in and dig?

I've had those coordinates before. Just ask someone to duel with you and choose the arena with obstacles. Tell them what you are doing - I always offer to let them kill me after I dig and then give them a bit of gp for their trouble ;)
