MasterOmok
Hey everyone, (This is just a little back story because I feel like sharing my current state of mind, skip to the "****"s if you just wish to help me with PK advice.) I have only really been a casual RuneScape player, mostly as a time killer. But I have played on and off since back when Santa Hats were 100k, and having a few million GP was a big deal. I took I took a long break to play Halo competitively and came back to my account being stripped of my multiple Santas, Mask Sets, Party Hats, Money, everything but the items of little value. This made me not want to play anymore as my favorite thing to do was merching, and I had nothing to do that with anymore (no more buy low, sell high for me). It wasn't until my friend showed me that there was a auction house type thing, and all the other new content that made me want to come back and play after my multiple year break. I started playing on the Bounty Worlds and the Fist of Guthix, and the PvP seems to have grown a lot since I have last played. This made me start thinking that since I don't have endless amounts of time to play, I should focus on what is most fun... that being the PvP. ******************* So, now that I want to fight more on the bounty worlds and fist of guthix. I am thinking I want to focus towards Melee combat, as I have the most gear built back up in that area. Here are my current stats... Combat - 87 Attack - 70 Strength - 72 Defense - 65 Hitpoints - 71 Ranged - 60 Prayer - 52 Magic - 64 Summoning - 4 I am not sure where to move forward first with training. Should I get my defense to 70, level my strength first, or what area to what level? I am open to any and all suggestions, and will do my best to follow them as I would like to be stronger in the PvP sense. Thank you in advance, Omok
AgingMiser
First off, it depends on what kind of attack style you want to focus on. For melee, just train all 3 melee stats up. As far as I'm aware, this is called being a main. Mains have high levels in all stats, and I've seen vids/pics of lots of amazing pking with these kinds of accounts. (They're called mains for lack of better name). You could aim to be a range tank, or in other words, obtain high def and range, so that you can completely rip through straight meleeers - do rapid 30s from far away, then use the spec and k0 when they come close. If they do start hitting on you, your def will lower their hits by a lot. Complete murder. Another option is to be a hybrid and swap between range and mage; this is used more for clanning than it is for soloing, I believe. But unless you plan to be a main, don't raise pray. Personally, I'd just go for being a main, as with those stats, that'd be the easiest to do :P
MasterOmok
That range tank sounds pretty interesting. For high defense and range what numbers are we looking at before attempting to start PKing? I have already started training both, although slowly at the moment. ChaosFlames
90+ Ranged and 75 (Preferably 80) defense. Sorry if it seems like the bar is set pretty high, but at your level everyones got their levels that high. I'd personally say go for main, since I'm not too sure what 90+ range would do to your HP. Go for 75 Attack, 85+ Strength, and 70, 75 or 80 defense before you start pking. Also in the long run go for 94 magic for Veng. [94/99 Ranged][87/99 HP][80/85 Def][70/70 Pray]
MasterOmok
Alright, sounds good. Should the magic be trained with non combat or combat attacks? Also since I am going the main route I should probably do http://www.tip.it/runescape/index.php?rs2quest_id=178 and pick up 70 prayer as well for piety? Or stay 52 prayer? Goals: Start with 70 defense (Eventually get 80) Then get 75 attack Make my way towards 85 strength And pick up 94 magic as I can to get vengence
Guest
Hitpoint levels are an advantage in p2p, But it takes a hellava lot longer to train magic with combat, unless you burst/barrage. Which isn't cheap.
