The layout looks pretty boring right now. Just a lot of gradients all over the place, maybe mix it up a bit. I don't know if I'm a fan of all 4 content boxes being so close to each other, it feels sort of weird and gets to the point where you may as well have them all in one content box.

Yeah I think the biggest thing right now is just that the gradients are kind of annoying. They can be a good thing to use, but you need to use them right. Gradient for the background, maybe even the header is fine, but I would shy away from it for the content boxes personally.

Thanks, Zack.

I was originally planning to make it one large content box, but I thought it may be clearer if it was separate. But hey, the client seems to like it.

I think I have overdone the gradients, shoulda thought about that. :-$

Thanks for the input anyway  It really is appreciated.

It was. Also, in the final coded version there were no gradients on the text, so that removes like 4 :P

Haha alright, that was my biggest complaint probably. :P

Live version looks nice. Something, I can't pinpoint what, is really bugging me about the font/type choice though.

So is this site for a person you know or how did you get in charge of doing it? I'm looking to do some freelance myself, but it's a pain in the [wagon] to sort of break in there. I might have another website job (small one) coming up for a friend though where I'll get paid.

Its not my favorite either, but I allowed Sam to design, and I coded. He used Myriad Pro everywhere, its not toio bad though.

I picked up this offer from someone I had a different job going on from. I dont personally know them as they live halfway across the world. I find almost all of my freelance work in the devArt forums, or from family and family friends

devArt link : http://forum.deviantart.com/jobs/offers/ (not high pay, but good if your starting out)

Haha, I honestly just started by simply applying for everything I thought I would be capable of doing, lots of people are willing to give people with little to no experience a shot because if you do a good job, they just got something nice really cheap. That's how I've fleshed out my portfolio so far.

Also, being able to design and code is very helpful, instead of just being a designer or just a coder.

Yeah I've hopefully got enough experience coding so far. I'm pretty good with HTML/CSS and learning Javascript (or at least, Javascript libraries haha). I did realize that my "portfolio" is really poorly fleshed out though, I should really try and do some more random design just to show what I can do.

(How much you getting paid for a page?)
