Hey guys, First post yay.

I know there are many guides about this, this one is different by putting in my opinion in exactly what to do, so here it goes.

::::Introduction::::

Welcome to blizzy's guide to Dagannoths.

I will show everyone what its like to use Guthans at Dagannoths under the lighthouse. Why would you use this you may ask? Because you can basically do whatever you want and not worry about not getting EXP!

::::Contents::::

1.0 Requirements: What skills and quests will be required to complete this task?

1.5 Item Requirements: What items will I need?

2.0 Dagannoth: What is a dagannoth?

3.0 Map: How do I get there?

4.0 At the Dagannoths: What do I do once I am there?

5.0 EXP Rates: How does this compare with other training methods?

6.0 Conclusion

::::Requirements::::

What skills and quests will be required to complete this task?

Well, All you really need to do is complete the "Horror from the Deep" quest!

Its quite a simple quest with no super hard skill requirements.

These are my recommendations:

70+ Attack

70+ Defence

70+ Strength

40+ Agility (If using barbarian outpost Basalt Rocks)

::::Item Recommendation::::

I personally recommend guthans. This is my setup when using guthans:

guide.th.jpg

Helmet: Guthans Helm*

Back: Fire cape > Skill Cape (t) > Skill Cape > Obsidian Cape

Neck: Fury > Glory > Strength Amulet > God Stole

Weapon: Whip/Guthans Warspear** > DDS/Guthans Warspear** > Guthans Warspear*

Body: Guthans Plate*

Legs: Guthans Chainskirt

Gloves: Barrows > Dragon > Rune > Klanks Gauntlets

Boots: Dragon > Bandos > Rune

Ring: Berserker Ring > Warrior Ring > Ring of Life***

Ammo: None > Diamond > Adamant > Mithril

*Need the full set to be able to heal yourself

**Use a whip/DDS with the Guthans Warspear to speed up exp.

*** Use a ring of life if you are worried about dying.

Note: Ring of Wealth is not needed here as there are not that many good drops, especially if you're afking.

This is my set up for training Strength/Attack or alternate Defence:

guide8.th.jpg

Helmet: Neitiznot > Barrows > Berserker Helmet > Warrior Helmet

Back: Fire Cape > Skill Cape (t) > Skill Cape > Obsidian Cape

Neck: Fury > Glory > Strength Amulet

Weapon (Strength/Attack) : Godsword > Saradomin Sword > Dragon Scimitar

Weapon (Defence): Whip/DDS > Godsword > Dragon Scimitar/DDS

Body: Bandos Chestplate > Fighter Torso > Barrows

Legs: Bandos Tassets > Barrows > Dragon/Rune

Gloves: Barrows > Dragon > Rune > Klanks Gauntlets

Boots: Dragon > Bandos > Rune

Shield/Offhand: Rune Defender > Adamant Defender > Obsidian Shield

Ammo: None > Diamond > Mithril

Inventory:

guide2.th.jpg

This inventory is a general Inventory for all setups. Where the DDS is you can replace with a whip to speed up the defence training. You can also bring your money and noted food to sell to the General store upstairs on the lighthouse and buy back. If you are only using guthans, you may not need food, unless you have a lower defence.

::::Dagannoth::::

Combat: 92, 90, 88, 74

HP: 120, 97, 85, 70

Drops: Bones, Water rune (15), Fishing bait, Fremennik shield, Fremennik shirt, Fremennik blade, Fremennik cloak, Fremennik helm, Gloves, Grimy herbs, Irit seeds, Keg of beer, Law runes, Mithril javelin (3), Nature runes, Nature talisman, Oyster pearl, Raw lobster, Seaweed, Steel arrows, Steel hatchet, Tinderbox, Toadflax seed, Uncut gems, Water talisman, Air talisman, Warrior helm, Archer helm, Berserker helm, Body talisman, Blood runes, Coins, Cosmic talisman, Dagannoth hide, Earth talisman, Edible seaweed, Farseer helm, Fire talisman, Snapdragon seed, Clue Scroll Level-3, Gold

::::Map::::

Legend:

Green = Route from Seers Village/Camelot teleport

Red = Route from Barbarian Outpost

Blue = Relleka home teleport Route

guide3.th.jpg

One you're inside the lighthouse, go down and through the door on the right and down the next ladder.

These are my favourite places to stand.

guide5.th.jpg

guide4y.th.jpg

::::At the Dagannoths::::

Once you're standing in these places, The Dagannoths should be aggressive and attacking you. Keep your stats topped up with super sets and every time the Dagannoths aren't aggressive, Either run to the the ground floor of the lighthouse and go back down, or change worlds.

If you need more food, go to the general store on the 2nd floor, sell your noted food, and buy back.

Not much more to say ::'

::::Exp Rates::::

Well I did a ONE HOUR test using guthans and DDS special, with no prayer and using 5 doses of super set.

Exp remaining at start:

guide6.th.jpg

and exp after one hour:

guide7.th.jpg

::::Conclusion::::

Thanks for reading my guide, I hope you enjoyed it and helped the people who hadnt quite known how to do this. Its great exp and very easy.

Once again, this has prob been made 150 times now, but I thought id try to include everything I could in here.

Looks like a pretty nice guide. One suggestion that I have is that you post the full-size images instead of thumbnails. Some of the pictures are hard to see, and most people probably won't click on the thumbnails to see the image.

hmm, good guide, it includes everything you need to know, but try to emphasize the seed drops. Unless its changed, they should drop toadflax seeds pretty commonly, and sometimes drop ranarr and, if I remember correctly, snapdragon seeds.

Honestly, with your stats, which are a few levels higher than mine, you should be getting more xp than that. Of course, I rarely bother doing 1 hour tests, so it probably seems like I got more xp in 1 hour because it was probably 2 hours.

I only found this spot because of my friend a few years back, and it helped me get 70 defense. But because i rarely train defense, its only 76 now :lol:

good guide, 9/10, I believe you could add a bit more in there

Yeah, The main idea for this article is for reference to AFK training with good figures.

To answer about the exp/hour thing. I only used dds every.... 15 - 20 mins so I afked most of it. I only used guthans aswell. (First gear picture)

ah, I forgot to mention

were you using one of the controlled styles? if so, that's why you only got ~35k xp in that hour, since its only in 1 skill

still, 35k*3=105k, so that seems right for here. Change the thumbnails though, its harder to see, and as someone else mentioned, very few will click on them to see the picture

still great nevertheless

That paragraph should be reworded.

It sounds like your promoting AFK'ing there which as you should know is against the rules.

Anyway CT dagganoths are a lot better as you get a load of charms and decent profit plus its easier to get to.
