A marker plant is usually used by clans for their fun and games. Clan members I believe can pull the marker plant that is put down, IF it was dropped by one of their clan members. Marker plants somewhat help people search for their clan mates, like playing the game hide and seek. To get your own market plant, find the person named, Faruq who is located at Al Kharid. Faruq is located right beside the silk seller close to the toll gate. In order for the market plant to disappear the one of the following must occur: Plant is pulled by the player who planted it, Plant is pulled out by a player from a member of the clan with a rank captain or higher, five minutes has gone by, or the player has logged out. For more information about marker plants please use this link: http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Marker_plant

Hope this helps!
