After the final fight and cutscene, when you talk to the odd old man he mentions about a diary, if you search the crate in the northen hut (it's the only searchable thing) then you get the diary (14 pages just with brief history of his travels, but pretty interesting if you followed the storyline :P) Oh and for the final fight, karils with melee protect is terrible, i got hit 35+ 5 times in a row like that, throw on mage pro and i didnt have to eat again through-out the fight, only going from 99 - 78 hp in the rest of it so suggesting that is alot better than karil w melee protect.
