Single search result = straight to the item

Featured Replies

Hi,

I posted this a while back, its still about and its annoying.

If I want to search on the item db, bestiary, shops or quest and the result is a single item it doesn't take you straight to the item.

Example: I want to check out the stats for void mace

1. Item database

2. Search "void mace"

3. Select void mace from the list of either void mace or nothing.

4. Finally get to void mace information screen

Couldn't you simply add a simple redirect to the number of records from the query is 1?

The 1 extra step might not sound like much, but try making the following setup on equipment builder.

Verac's helm - use "verac"

Verac's bassard - use "verac"

Verac's skirt - use "verac"

Barrows Gloves - use "barrows"

Void Mace - use "void"

Fury - use "fury"

Granite Shield - use "granite"

Thats 7 extra clicks/screens for one setup.

Granted the equipment builder one is harder to do, the general one is very simple to implement.

PS Why not add a tip.it search box with a drop down of databases next to the google one?

That really seems like a very good idea!

I'll get other people to look at this and see what they think.
