The range defence beats everything but a granite shield all the way down to 2/10 charge. Between 8/10 and 9/10, the melee defence stats are comparable to dragon square shield (but d shield range defence is only 50.) At 6/10 the melee defence stats fall below a rune kiteshield (but rune kite range defence is only 46.) At 4/10 the defence stats are comparable to a granite shield. At 2/10 the range defence finally falls below the granite shield.

 

This should have been updated when dragonfire shield came out as dragon fireshield is as good at (6) and after (6) its worse then a full charged dragonfire shield.
