So you want a quest cape, eh? If you want that shiny quest cape you better pay attention. You are about to embark on the longest and most difficult quest in RuneScape. Chances are, you've heard horrible things about this quest and you dread to even begin it. Before you even begin, you should have above and beyond the minimum requirements to complete the quest. You may even need several guides.[hide=Guides]

-Cape: Spottier Cape > Spotted Cape > Saradomin/Guthix/Zamorak Cloak

 

-Amulet: Saradomin/Guthix/Zamorak Stole > Holy Symbol > Fury > Glory

 

-Weapon: Dragon Mace

 

-Weapon 2: Ancient Mace

 

-Weapon 3: Enhanced Excalibur

 

-Shield: Falador Shield 3 > Falador Shield 2 > Holy Book > Rune Deffender

For the inventory, you should immediately, drop the key, and set up the rope (see map). Inventory space is precious here as you need many mirrors. You will not need many prayer potions or many sharks if you have Ancient Mace and Enhanced Excalibur. Also, the Crystal Trinket in my inventory should be the (now white) Blackened Crystal for you.

 

001wvb.png[/hide][hide=Useful Strategies]The Enhanced Excalibur will heal you 20 hitpoints as well as raise your defence (based on level)! As one can tell, this is extremely useful. That's like one free shark every 5 minutes (if you need any).

The Ancient Mace Transforms the Damage You Do Into Prayer Points (as long as you are one less prayer point than your max e.g. 69/70)

Protect From Melee is essential! The shadows may only be level 73 and have 15 hp but they can pack a punch. To make things easier, set Protect from Melee to your Quick Prayer so you can turn it on/off quickly.

I shouldn't need to remind you of an amazing feature called Rest. If you are down a few hp, low on run energy, out of special, and happen to be near a safe spot (see map), REST!!!

 

005j.png[/hide][hide=Map]Red Squares: Safe spots. Some of them are natural safe spots, while others are safe as long as nothing is following you.

 

Blue Squares: Shadows (level 73) Missed by the Mapper

 

Brown Blocks: Areas Shadows Cannot Pass and/or You Can't Unless the Door is "Open"

 

Pink Lines: ALWAYS have PROTECT FROM MELEE on while running past the Dark Beasts!

The above map is owned by Tip.It. I have made minor changes to it, but it is STILL property of Tip.It and may NOT be used anywhere outside of Tip.It or the Tip.It Forums.[/hide][hide=Little Tips/Useful Information]-To "open" a door, you must shoot a light of the opposite color on the Colour Wheel Colour_wheel.gif by redirecting light through pillars using mirrors and colored crystals to change the color of the light beam.

 

-The light always starts from the pillar next to the lever (red square on the far east of the second floor on my map).

 

-Drop the New Key once you make it through the door into the Slave Mine. You can always get a new one from searching the Head Mourner's desk. You will need the space, trust me. Drop the Colour Wheel and Journal as well.

 

-Don't bother using Summoning. You have an unlimited source of HP and Prayer. There really is no point.

 

-This quest truly is much, much better if you do it with a partner. Ask around your friends list if anyone is interested and can complete it.

 

-Have sound effects on. Chances are, if you stop at a false safe spot to read/watch a guide, you WILL be attacked.

 

-Buy the Death Talisman from the Grand Exchange instead of completing the Dwarf's annoyingly long list.[/hide][hide=F.A.Q.]Your questions will be answered to the best of my ability as I check the thread.[/hide]
