cat666
Ever since this weeks update I have issue with lag for no apparent reason. It's the sort of lag where when you click it takes 2 seconds to do it and sometimes does connection lost. This is apparently something to do with my computer talking to server. I have tried my usual 2 servers (Belgium and Netherlands), a local server (UK) and whatever Jagex decided to put me on and all of them have the same issue. My computer has 3.6mb broadband confirmed with my router and speed checks online and I can watch BBCi player or Channel 4 on demand with no issues whatsoever. All websites load up a dream including those with Java. My system idle process is 57-65 or the CPU but I'm still lagging. The other oddity is it isn't all the time, this morning was OK but this afternoon has been hell. Yesterday I had issues in the morning but it seemed OK in the evening. I would assume the issue was with the route to Jagex server but no one else seems to be having an issue which debunks that theory. Anyone experienced anything like this before? If so can anyone suggest a fix? Ta Trust the Gene Genie!
Skeptical
Maybe better off in the tech forum? I would advise checking for a virus of some sort. That was my problem. Zaaps1
Mine acts like that too, but much less often than what you are describing. For starters I would reboot my computer. I usually put it on stand-by overnight. If you do the same I would say to shut it down once in a while. For some reason it drastically improves the general speed of the computer. Also, I would try to arrage Java so it has high priority on the Processes list (Task Manager). That might be a solution if you find that all Java programs act similarly. Try playing a Funorb game. If that works fine, then it might be just a problem with Runescape on your computer. I think there's a catche or something you might need to look into. I don't really have an tech training myself, but the above is what I do and it usually works out for me fine. If you need more help I would recommend the Tech Forum. ~It's Super Effective!
