Would it be worth getting a blackberry phone, without a contract? A friend told me that without push email, its useless. Do you think I should get one on pay as you go?

I just wanted to use it as a phone. I've heard its comparable to the iphone.

Then no, I don't think there's a purpose to getting one just for general phone use. There are also better phones for texting if you're into that.
