September 6, 200916 yr okay, so I've devised a formula to determine ranged maximum hits, but I need field testing to see if it is correct. So I'm going to post my formula here and if rangers would be so kind as to calculate through it and see of the answer is their max hit, that'd be swell Here goes: STR-(((1/10 STR)^2)+((lvl/32.55x56/6.113)/253.3x252.3)/2=your max hit with 1-99 Ranged STR (requires testing: ANYONE WITH DBOWS + 99 RANGE ESPECIALLY NEEDED) lvl/32.55x56/6.113/253.3x252.3=max hit with 100 Ranged STR (requires some testing) STR-(((1/10 STR)^2)x-1)+((lvl/32.55x56/6.113)/253.3x252.3)= max hit with 101+ ranged STR (requires testing) STR will be replace with your bolts ranged strength, lvl will be replaced with your ranged lvl. If you do not feel like doing this, then just post your ranged lvl, max hit and what bolts/arrows you are using, and if you want to save me a few seconds, just tell me the ranged strength. PS: If using void add x1.15 to the end of the equation Please, Please, Please get me some test results, and do not use enchanted bolts "Don't push me; what's the hurry?" - Imogen Heap
September 6, 200916 yr That formula already doesn't work. Just testing the first half of your equation (Assuming that's how much the arrow/bolt will increase your damage, from your base), STR-(((1/10 STR)^2)x-1) If you pull out the -1 from the 2nd part of that, you get STR+((1/10*STR)^2), which would mean that the maximum damage of the damage of Dragon Arrows (STR = 60), would be over 60 already, since it's STR + (Other numbers greater than 0), debunking the formula. (The 2nd half of the equation also has to be positive, since there are no negative numbers involved, and your level can never be less than 0). The only way that your formula could work, is if you meant 1/(10*STR) in the first half. However, I still cannot figure it out, because it places the max hit of Dragon arrows still way over the possible amount. ~Dan : 1437 : 173Lowest Combat to 1,000 Total in F2P (23 Combat)Check me out on YouTube!
September 6, 200916 yr Author give me the ranged str on d arrows and I'll run some numbers. I don't think you're right mate "Don't push me; what's the hurry?" - Imogen Heap
September 6, 200916 yr It's 60, It was in my original post. The placement of your parenthesis and multiplication in the original formula is rather confusing, but if I plug it directly in (Using 99 Ranged level and 60 Ranged Strength bonus), you get 123.752. [06] -[ZU]RuneScript- *** [ CALC ]: 60-(((1/10*60)^2)*-1)+((99/32.55*56)/6.113)/253.3*252.3 = 123.752358 ~Dan : 1437 : 173Lowest Combat to 1,000 Total in F2P (23 Combat)Check me out on YouTube!
September 6, 200916 yr Author Hmm...on my calculator I got an answer of 51.7523582/arrow EDIT: Only apply the x-1 in STR values of over 100. "Don't push me; what's the hurry?" - Imogen Heap
September 6, 200916 yr That's still over the max hit possible with Dragon Arrows at 99 Ranged. Can you type in exactly what you plugged into the calculator? Cause if I use your formula directly (Copy and paste into a calculator and replace numbers), I get 123.752358. ~Dan : 1437 : 173Lowest Combat to 1,000 Total in F2P (23 Combat)Check me out on YouTube!
September 6, 200916 yr Author see edit EDIT: Does 37/38 sound about right? "Don't push me; what's the hurry?" - Imogen Heap
September 6, 200916 yr I can't say, since I don't have 99 Ranged, but give me a moment to gather some information on that, and will check back on it. Are you saying that STR-(((1/10 STR)^2))+(lvl/32.55x56/6.113)/253.3x252.3 is that max hit for Ranged Strength under 100? ~Dan [Edit]: Currently (I believe) max with Dbow spec is 49-49 (Someone please correct me if I am wrong), so if you do 49/1.5 you get 32.667 (with void), divide by 1.5 again you get 21.778 max hit. : 1437 : 173Lowest Combat to 1,000 Total in F2P (23 Combat)Check me out on YouTube!
September 6, 200916 yr Author to get 37/38 I divided 2 on the second half result then added 1st half (24) so that's probably it. for 100 str though i don;t divide 2 and get good results "Don't push me; what's the hurry?" - Imogen Heap
September 6, 200916 yr 37/38 still can't possibly be right, since max with Dbow spec and void (with dragon arrows, does 1.5x damage), is 49-49, thereby the max is only 32/33 with out the spec. (Calculations in above post) ~Dan : 1437 : 173Lowest Combat to 1,000 Total in F2P (23 Combat)Check me out on YouTube!

September 7, 200916 yr The range calculator only goes up to Rune Arrows, and doesn't actually calculate out the max hit, but rather takes a bunch of information and put together a table (more or less). ~Dan : 1437 : 173Lowest Combat to 1,000 Total in F2P (23 Combat)Check me out on YouTube!
September 7, 200916 yr Author I feel a 37 is a very possible hit with a dbow. Someone should go test this. Vollunteers(sp?)? EDIT: According to Runescape.com, Void only gives 10% damage bonus. Factoring in void and 50% damage bonus, I get a 30 turning into a 49. But what about prayer and ranging potions? So in the equation we get lvl being very high, because ranging potions i'm sure can raise range to like 115 from 99 and 115+15%=132? That's pretty god damn high "Don't push me; what's the hurry?" - Imogen Heap
September 7, 200916 yr It is possible, but only with spec. Highest possible hit without void or spec is 21/22. ~Dan : 1437 : 173Lowest Combat to 1,000 Total in F2P (23 Combat)Check me out on YouTube!
September 7, 200916 yr Author STR-(((1/10 STR)^2)+((lvl/32.55x56/6.113)/253.3x252.3)/2=your max hit with 1-99 Ranged STR. Revise to lvl/32.55x56/6.113/253.3x252.3/2 - ((STR - 1/10STR^2)/3) So, adding pots + 15% prayer to level 99 range... 131.1/32.55x56/6.113/253.3x252.3/2 - 8 = 28.7508502 with a dbow and dragon arrows... ...and when multiplied by 1.1 and 1.5 for void and spec the max hit = 47.4389028. That seems about right, just off a bit. "Don't push me; what's the hurry?" - Imogen Heap
September 7, 200916 yr Author can I get this moved --> general discussion? :? "Don't push me; what's the hurry?" - Imogen Heap
September 7, 200916 yr Report the topic and write that as the comment, and see if you can. Also, that does seem a lot closer, to the actual formula. I'll test it out for a few more situations later (based on known maxed hits) ~Dan : 1437 : 173Lowest Combat to 1,000 Total in F2P (23 Combat)Check me out on YouTube!
September 8, 200916 yr I'm still trying to understand the second half of your equation with ((STR - 1/10STR^2)/3), is it supposed to be ((STR - 1/(10*STR^2))/3), or...((STR - (STR^2)/10)/3), cause I keep getting wierd numbers whenever I try to calculate it out. Also, if you simplify out your first half (L=Ranged Level): L/32.55x56/6.113/253.3x252.3/2 = L * 1/32.55 * 56 * 1/6.113 * 1/253.3 * 252.3 * 1/2 = (approximately) .14L, please correct me I'm wrong. ~Dan : 1437 : 173Lowest Combat to 1,000 Total in F2P (23 Combat)Check me out on YouTube!
